“You know, I’m beginning to feel obsolete here.” Jay muttered to himself as yet another person ran in without protection or back up. He was a cop, it was his job to protect the people and yet, here they were protecting him instead. “Hey careful!” He called out, moving to holster his gun and help the other move one of the boulders. “I’m guessing rock slides are fairly common here?”

“   are  you  kidding  me,  lucifer  ?   ”     the  words  are  quiet,  yet  they  echo  around  the  empty  club.  she’d  seen  lux  when  she’d  gotten  here  and  part  of  her  hoped  that  it  had  just  been  a  sick  coincidence.  then  came  the  murmurs,  the  whispers  about  the  man  with  the  british  accent  who  owned  this  place,  handsome  in  all  the  right  ways.  people  found  themselves  spilling  their  darkest  desires  for  no  reason  at  all.   but  she  knew.   and  now  she  stands,  facing  his  back  at  the  bottom  of  the  stairs.  a  perfect  replica  of  lux,  down  to  the  bar.  it  twisted  her  stomach.   he  couldn’t  come  back  to  her?  he  comes  back  to  earth,  but  he  couldn’t  come  find  her?

“I don’t remember coming across this place.” He said mostly to himself as he walked into the building. It seemed every day he was learning something new about Woodshore and though he enjoyed that, it was still rather curious it seemed to have more to give. Well, for being stuck on the ground, who was to say he couldn’t try to make the most of it?

“ this town has no newspaper, ”  karen had stopped trying to look about half an hour ago. she’d dug through the ‘archives’ in the basement of the library and what she’d found was boxes full of nonsense really.   “ but not only that, there’s no history. there’s no information on who first settled here, the major figurehead responsible for starting this town, any election information, local census records –– nothing. it’s like this town just appeared out of . . . out of thin air,  ”   her words got softer at the end. even she’d been lured here with a promise of something, most people had.   “ doesn’t that freak you out ? ”     //     @dreamcfspring​
