As an alternative to inktober, my wife is creating a cryptid comic this month! It follows a Fresno nightwalker who wanders off from his friend and ends up alone and lost in a spoOoOoky forest......can you guess some of the cryptids our little hero will meet on his journey?
She’s given me permission to post the pages here — or you can visit her instagram, @Leah_Kristen12, to watch the tale unfold.
Also, these first two pages are the only ones Leah painted — for the rest she’s been using brush pens and they’re turning out a lot cleaner. So prepare for some quality improvement in future posts!
Attempted to paint Ariel with water colors. :)
day 5 of drawtober: monster, in this case a ruenion picture

Drawtober Day 4 - Prompt: Freeze (Inktober)
I’ve been wanting to draw this scene since I read Dracula’s Guest last week, and I thought Inktober’s prompt “Freeze” would be perfect for it. The wolf (Dracula) is using its body to keep the protagonist from freezing to death when said protagonist wanders off to a haunted graveyard and ends up in the middle of a mysterious snow storm.
Dracula’s Guest is a short story written by Bram Stoker before he wrote Dracula. There is some speculation that this story is a prologue of sorts and the protagonist is supposed to be Jonathan. I’m not sure how sold I am on that considering the protagonist and Jonathan come across to me as two completely different characters (DG is kinda bullheaded and arrogant, whereas Jonathan is just naive and a little too determined to do his job.)
But I used Jonathan’s design anyway, because I really, really like this story.
I think they look cute together.
