What advice could you give in relation to drawing eyes? Whenever I draw a male character, I have a specific way of shaping the eyes, and often when I do female characters, I get this unavoidable discomfort that’s often felt with the uncanny valley.

Girls are more difficult for me to draw in general. Haha. But as far as eye shapes go, I find it helpful to save references and practice drawing the shapes. Also be sure to take into account different makeup styles, if you wish to go that route. Usually I tend to make the man’s features more pointed or rough and the woman’s more soft and round. Same with eyes. My Henry and Linda, for example:

There are exceptions, of course. But I tend to stick with this as a start. I can change up the shapes of eyes, but still keep the general rule. If that makes sense. I really do recommend looking up eye references, it will come in handy. :) I hope that helps.
