Sin was in the courtyard, staying close to the stone Eteth as she waited for him to return to normal. She didn't know when he'd return to normal, but she knew if it took too long she was going to use all her energy in finding out how to break the spell.
Armis had been threatened enough by Dranz to do something he really didn't want to. And so he found himself at the mage's home again, stepping into the courtyard. He was surprised to see Sin so quickly, but as far as he could tell, Dranz's plan was still on. "Hello, Sin."
She frowned when she saw Armis. "What do you want? If you're looking for Kelazi, she's not here." She said as her ears bent back.
"I know where she is if I need to find her." He sneered, pulling his lute off of his back. "I'm just hear to talk, you see."
Sin glared at him. "Just talk? I doubt that." She growled. "And do you really know where she is?" She asked.
"Does it really matter if I do or don't?" Armis asked, strumming a chord. "I see you managed to get the mage king turned to stone again."
Her tail bristled and she growled at him. "It wasn't my fault." She snapped. "And don't even try your stupid hypnotizing on me." She growled, baring her teeth at him.
"Why? It wouldn't work on you?" He answered, starting to sing, testing her. "I doubt that."
Sin snarled and sent a spell to explode the air in front of him. "Don't test me." She snapped. She was bothered by hypnotizing since the time she was stuck guarding the Wizard's town and Darez hypnotized her. She could fight it, but it was a lot of effort and energy that she could otherwise use for fighting or using spells.
Armis stumbled backwards when the air in front of him exploded. He regained his composure quickly enought, though. "Test you?" He asked, starting to sing again. "Is this considered a test? If it is come hit me yourself."
Sin growled at him. She didn't want to go hit him since he'd probably pull something and not to mention he was trying to hypnotize her. She shook her head before sending another explosion spell at him. "Get out of here." She snapped.
This time Armis was prepared and jumped to the side, continuing to sing. "Don't you like my song?"
She growled as her ears flattened against her head. "I'm warning you. Leave." She snapped. "If you think Dranz is scary. He's afraid of me, so think about that for a moment before you decide to continue listening to him." She growled.
Although the threat caught his attention, the bard had already gotten this far and knew either way he was going to suffer. He decided he'd rather get it over with sooner rather than later. "Won't you come over here and talk to me." He sang, instilling more of his power into it.
Sin snarled and shook her head as she fought the hypnotism. She kept her feet firmly planted where she stood, not letting herself step any closer. "Leave." She snarled before sending a fireball spell at him.
He dodged aside, glaring at her. "You're so angry, but you won't set a claw on me. That's rude, you should come closer."
"I'm fine right here." She snapped although her hands flexed. "Go away." She growled before remembering something. She paused before sending a spell to try and silence him.
It wasn't the kind of spell he could dodge, and Armis glared as he found himself silenced. Irate, he ignored it and continued to play on his lute, hoping to annoy her enough to attack him that way.
Sin let out a sigh when he was silenced, relieved that it worked. She then frowned when he continued to play on his lute and she crossed her arms. "Unless you want me to break it, I suggest you stop. I can easily reach it from here with a spell." She growled.
Armis sneered, continuing and taking a step forward. If she did, then he would just have to use the sword on him.
She growled and stepped back before sending another explosive spell at him, trying to knock his instrument out of his hands.
Armis held on tight, glaring as she tried to knock it out of his hands and continuing to play regardless. He wasn't going to back down.
Sin glared back at him before sending a cutting spell at his instrument.
He glared as he dropped his instrument and drew his blade instead, walking towards her.
She was startled when he drew a blade. Her ears bent back and she backed up when he started walking towards her. She growled before sending another explosion spell at him to try and knock him down.
He dodged, his eyes flashing golden. The plan was the last thing on his mind, just then. He would rather kill her instead.
Sin sent an immobilization spell at him as she continued to try and keep her distance from him. He struggled forward, trying to slash through the immobilization spell. She frowned before using an explosion spell to try and get the blade out of his hand. "Go away." She snapped.
He winced but held onto his sword, stepping forward again. He had given her warning enough. Sin snarled at him and backed up. Again she tried to knock his sword out of his hand. It was obvious she was trying to get rid of him without killing him or hurting him severely, but it wasn't working too well. She growled before changing to her dragon form and roaring at him, hoping to scare him off.
He stepped back, somewhat shaken. He was jolted back to the reality, to the plan. He had to get away from where Eteth was so that Dranz could take over.
Sin didn't step toward him, instead just stood where she was and spread her wings, snarling at him. She then paused and glanced at Eteth just to make sure that Armis wasn't just distracting her, though she was distracting herself by paying attention to stone Eteth.
Armis immediately ducked in and slashed at her foreleg before jumping back. He had to get her away and fast, especially since she seemed to be catching on.
She snarled and snapped at Armis when he slashed at her foreleg, but continued to stay firmly in place. Even when she had been backing away, she had been staying close to Eteth. She growled, baring her teeth at Armis and thumped her tail on the ground in agitation. "Go tell Dranz to come fight me instead of being a coward and sending a fool to do his dirty work." She growled.
Armis silently mocked her, brandishing his sword and threatening her. He dared her to come closer.
Sin glared at him but remained where she was, not falling for his taunting. She did breath fire at him though. He dodged, continuing to silently mock her. He moved closer again, preparing to attack her.
She hissed at him when he moved closer again. When he got too close, she immediately snapped at him, trying to clamp onto him. He dodged, slashing at her nose when she did that. He knew she would get angry enough to chase him eventually. Sin cringed when he slashed her nose and she pawed at her nose. Snarling, she snapped at him again, trying to get a hold of him.
Armis let out a silent laugh as he dodged again, slashing at her face again as he did so. He knew he had to be careful or he would get hit, but he was trying to seem as overtly cocky as possible.
She snarled and shook her head when he hit her face again. She growled, glaring at him, but then paused and sat down, realizing she was getting too angry. She needed to calm down as she didn't want to get enraged or end up killing anyone. She let out an annoyed sigh before continuing to glare at Armis. "Go ahead and hit me. I don't care." She growled.
He scowled, before taking her up on that offer and stepping closer, slashing at her side.
Sin cringed and dug her talons into the ground when he slashed at her side. She growled before snapping at him, but otherwise didn't move.
Armis grinned, sidestepping and hitting her again.
She cringed when she was hit again. She growled and blew smoke at him in annoyance. If anything, he was like an annoying horse fly to her at the moment. She was doing her best to remain where she was and not get angry.
He looked at her, glaring and jumping up to her back. If he had his voice back he would warn her of what his plan was just then, but since he didn't he hoped it would be a surprise.
Sin was startled when he got onto her back. She snarled at him and immediately tried to snap at him to try and get him off. "Get off." She snarled.
He fought from being thrown off, digging his sword into her back for a grip.
"This is taking rather long." Dranz stated from his position on a wall.
She snarled when Armis dug his sword into her back. She snapped at him and kept trying to get him off. She was startled when she heard Dranz and looked over to see him on a wall. She growled and glared at him, getting distracted by him for a moment and forgetting Armis on her back.
Armis moved his blade to her wing, grinning.
"A wing for a wing." Dranz stated, jumping down. "I wonder how you'll handle yours."
Sin cringed when Armis moved his blade to her wing. Hearing what Dranz said, she snarled and tried to get Armis off her back again. "Get off!" She snarled at Armis.
Armis adjusted his blade so that if he fell he would take her wing with him.
Dranz moved towards them, going to walk around so he would get a better shot at Eteth.
The moving of the blade inside her was starting to freak her out. She scraped at the ground with her talons, trying to ignore the blade. When she saw Dranz move toward them. She snarled and immediately moved to stand between Eteth and Dranz. "Go away." She snapped at Dranz.
"I would have stayed away if you hadn't sent a certain dog after me." Dranz snapped back. When she moved, Armis pressed his blade even closer towards her wings.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Sin huffed, playing dumb. "It's not my fault you're harboring spirits." She growled. She cringed when Armis moved the blade again and she tried to ignore the pain and feeling. "Leave Eteth alone." She hissed, baring her teeth at Dranz.
"Why? I'm short several spirits. I'm sure he would be more than willing to take their place if I confuse him enough." Dranz stated, walking closer again.
Sin immediately snapped at Dranz when he walked closer. She was now frightened, not just for Eteth's sake, but for her own as well. She couldn't imagine being stuck as one of Dranz's spirits especially when being stuck with his others. She noticed she was very tense now and she quickly tried to calm down, not wanting Dranz to see her fright. She hadn't even known that it was possible for Dranz to take other people as spirits besides the ones from the forests. "...You... can get plenty from the forest that you got the other ones. There's no reason for you to take.. him." She snapped.
"Oh sure, I still have the key spirit from that forest." Dranz stated, noticing how nervous she was. "But if I went back there he would only warn the others what happened. I wouldn't be able to convince any to come with me. They'd all be too frightened of meeting the same fate." He paused, "Do you know where the spirits of mages go before they go to the gray realm? Where they go for good if they aren't buried properly?"
"Couldn't you just take the ones Li has?" Sin said, completely forgetting Armis was on her back. She shifted some. "....Exile forest?" She guessed. She didn't know as she hadn't gone far enough into death to find out.
"Her spirits won't follow me." Dranz stated. "And they pass into chaos. My fathers realm and soon to be my realm. There are certain things I'm not allowed to do, but wouldn't you know it, no one told me I couldn't take the spirits that were lost there. Or the ones heading there."
Sin shifted some nervously. "Couldn't you get Opal to convince the spirits to go to you?" She asked, trying to find some way to deter him from taking Eteth.. or herself if he thought of it. Just continuing to try to convince him out of it might make him realize the idea was frightening to her, but she hoped he would just think she was only afraid for Eteth. "...And couldn't Opal help you find new spirit places?"
"Are you afraid of being alone?" Dranz asked, looking at her as he continued to move towards Eteth, Armis pressing his sword down harder.
That was part of it, but she knew if she said anything, he'd be able to tell there was more to it. "..." She decided to answer with silence and hoped he wouldn't press. She snarled when he moved closer to Eteth and she quickly moved in his way, cringing as Armis pressed his sword down harder.
"You are. That's funny." Dranz grinnned, signaling Armis who finished cutting through her wing with his sword. "Don't worry. I can take you too if you want. Then you can always be with him. I'm sure you'd love that."
Sin hissed in pain when her wing was separated from her and she dug her talons into the ground. Her eyes then widened when Dranz said he'd take her too and she tensed up again. She snarled and tried to attack Dranz. He dodged, grinning. "See? I told you you were frightened."
When he dodged, Sin lost her balance from only having one wing and fell down. She shook her head before snarling at Dranz and trying to attack him again. Since she was so focused on Dranz, she completely forgot Armis and the silencing spell she had on him broke.
Armis fell off her back when she lost her balance and scowled, picking up his sword and moving towards her. He would cut off her tail this time. Dranz grinned, taking flight to head back towards Eteth again.
Sin scowled when Dranz took flight, going out of her reach. She tried to follow him to block him from Eteth, not noticing Armis moving towards her.
Armis grinned, jabbing towards her with his sword to try and distract her.
Sin hissed when she was jabbed with the sword. She glared at Armis before swiping at him to try and knock him out of the way before going to go back to focusing on Dranz. Armis stumbled backwards, scowling and going to retaliate again.
Dranz had landed next to Eteth, and glared at her as he grabbed hold of the stone head. "You just couldn't leave me alone. How unfortunate for you and Eteth."
"No! Leave him alone!" She roared as she charged at Dranz, ignoring Armis again.
Dranz immediately ducked behind Eteth. "What was that?"
Armis rushed forward to stab her in her other side, scowling. He hated being silent. Clearly he hadn’t realized the spell had broken yet.
"Leave him alone! He hasn't done anything to you!" Sin snarled at Dranz before cringing when Armis stabbed her. She snarled at Armis and tried to bat him away. Armis jumped back, glaring at her.
"All the more saddening, then." He snapped, raking his claws against the stone.
"Stop it!" She roared and tried to bite Dranz to try and get him to stop.
Dranz ducked again. "If your not careful, you'll kill him for me." Seeing that he wasn't really needed, Armis stepped back, and started to clean his sword.
Sin stopped and snarled at Dranz. "If you don't leave him alone, I'll go kill Opal." She threatened. It wasn't much of a threat though. She probably couldn't get to Opal in the state she was in and how much blood she already lost.
"You'll die before you get there." He mocked, though it clearly angered him a great deal as he moved his arm to Eteth's shoulder. "Did you know he can still hear everything? And feel pain?"
She snarled at him before frowning and looking down when he said Eteth could still hear and feel pain. She dug her talons into the ground and glared at Dranz. "Get away from him!" She snarled and tried to use the shocking spell on Dranz. She didn't think it'd work if he still had a spirit with him.
The spirit absorbed most of the spell, but Dranz winced at what did get through. "That wasn't particularly nice." He stated, moving to break off Eteth's arm.
Sin snarled at Dranz before quickly sending an immobilization as strong as she could manage at Dranz when he moved to break off Eteth's arm, hoping to stop him. Dranz slowed down as he fought off the part of the spell that got through to him. He snarled, digging his claws in.
"Stop it!" She snarled, stalking closer to Dranz as she bared her teeth at him. She sent another shock at him, just as strong as the immobilization.
Dranz snarled again, before going rigid. He couldn't do much frozen and one spirit wasn't enough to defend him. "I'll take both your spirits to guard me." He snapped.
Armis saw what was happening and quickly rushed forward, this time aiming a fatal blow at Sin.
Since all her focus was on Dranz, Sin did not notice Armis until it was too late. Her eyes went wide, startled at being struck, and she coughed. She struggled to stay standing, but slumped down to the ground as her vision started to fade to black. She struggled, trying to stay alive as fear struck her at the thought of being Dranz's spirit slave. She didn't want to be controlled by him.
Dranz laughed some as the spell broke and he immediately tore apart the stone form of Eteth. "I look forward to keeping you both."
She watched in distress as Dranz tore Eteth apart while she laid there helpless and dying. Her vision went to black as her life left her. When she opened her eyes again, she quickly looked around as she was tense, afraid of Dranz taking her and Eteth to be his spirits. Dranz appeared in front of her instead of Cadvasus, though Eteth didn't seem to be around, something that surprised Dranz just as much. He looked similar to when he had disguised himself, but still wore the same armor he usually did. "Are you ready to come with me?" He asked, regaining his composure.
Sin was confused by the fact that Eteth wasn't there. He had to have been in the stone right? When Dranz appeared in front of her, her tail bristled and her ears bent back. "No." She snarled and immediately went to run away.
The dark spirit Dranz had been able to keep appeared in front of her. "Why are you so eager to be off to the grey realms?"
She stopped and looked between the two of them as she shifted nervously. "I'm not. But I don't want to be controlled by him either." She said and tried to get away from both of them.
"Who said anything about him controlling you?" The spirit asked, looking at Dranz.
"I don't control the spirits that travel with me." Dranz stated.
Sin hesitated and fidgeted. "I don't care. I don't want to be used for anything nor do I want to be around him constantly." She said. She didn't want Dranz to have his hands on her power. Plus, she wasn't sure about her chances of coming back to life if she was stuck to Dranz.
"I told you she wouldn't be any fun." The spirit stated, watching her.
"I guess she'll just have to wait until Caosrivel can figure out what to do with her soul." He stated, shrugging. "There's no telling how long that might take, and by then she could be assimilated into the stream. Then it won't matter."
Sin frowned and fidgeted. She couldn't tell if they were lying or telling the truth or if they were saying these things just to convince her to join. She then looked at the spirit warily. Dranz said he didn't control the spirits, but that didn't mean another spirit couldn't control a spirit... and this one probably wasn't too happy about her sending Rosey to take the other spirits either. She glared at Dranz.
"Someone will revive me." She snapped.
"If their spell can find you." Dranz replied calmly, looking at her. "And even then...it doesn't matter, does it?" He glanced at the spirit.
