The girl isn’t what makes him stop in his tracks. He sees wings. Massive, leathery wings that remind him of neither reapers nor his own when he lets them show. What’s stranger is he’s certain those in the RG can’t see them at all. She’d be drawing much more attention if that were the case.
She is however, distracting Neku. Sitting by Hachiko’s statue surrounded by Dixie Frogs and Corehog Noise like some kind of animal whisperer.
“Are you dense?” Neku folds his arms, brow creased in bewilderment. He’ll address the wings issue later, after he figures out why this girl is so enamored with things that would claw her face off if given the opportunity.
“You do know what those are right? They aren’t pets. You could get hurt if you’re not careful.”
