So i have been inspired to write my own lil "what homestuck has done for me thingy" and though I will never be able to truly verbalize how much it means to me I will try my best to say my piece Damn i feel like im writing a eulogy here but whatevs- I started reading homestuck during the gigapause in 2014, after having tried to read it back in 2011 without the slightest idea what i was doing and trying to read it all in one night. Bad idea. Anyway, reading homestuck and introduced me to so many great friends and had such a profound affect on me that I honestly dont know what i would be doing today without it. The characters were all so unique and relatable that i instantly grew attached to them. The story, though painful to sit through at times, was unlike anything I had ever seen. Homestuck changed my way of thinking, opened the door to what a story really could be and how rewarding a truly great plot feels. Homestuck gave me characters that i could relate to in the deepest of ways and through those characters I have learned more about myself than i expected, my sense of humor, the way i talk, has all been changed by my reading. Joke as I do about how much of a piece of trash i am, i have never felt more at home in a fandom and a group of people than i do now and when i first started reading. The fandom provided me with friends and role models, people i could look up to and who inspire me more than ever before. Homestuck has provided me with an outlet for my creativity and i have never produced as much fan art for anything else like i do homestuck. Its hard to say how it will be when it ends tomorrow but i will still forever identify with the characters and remember all of this stuff that has happened to me the past two years. I think i can say with confidence that i will never stop liking homestuck, and these experiences i have had and will have will stay with me.
