a/n: hi!! this is my first fic here :) i hope you guys like it, & please let me know what else you'd like to see!!
I was furious after what Harry had done this morning. Perhaps something more than furious. I didn’t think the golden boy would’ve done something like that to me. I’d think that only someone like Malfoy could be so cruel, no matter how attractive he might be.
I had been so meticulous about Harry. I thought that he would be a good match. He seemed kind, heroic. All of the things that I’d think would make a good boyfriend. Maybe I misread his advances? Perhaps he really did just want a study partner.
I mean, he did skip potions quite regularly. I had just thought it was because of his quidditch schedule, and I guess I had offered to help him catch up for the upcoming quiz. But he had been so flirtatious with me during our last couple of sessions? He had brought me my coffee order, written me small notes that he would turn into small cranes with simple spells and he had played with the ring on my thumb. He had even asked me to wear his house sweater. I guess I have to return that to him now. How could I be so daft?
“Did you hear, y/n?” Cho asked, dropping her books on the library table that I’ve been at for hours, half studying, half overthinking. She snapped me right back to reality.
“Hear what?” I answered, trying to keep my eyes glued to the ingredient list that I needed to memorize for the potions quiz next week. The stupid quiz that had led me to spend all of my extra time with a boy who doesn’t seem to care much anymore. I needed to get a better mark than him. Perhaps I even wanted him to fail and have to deal with Snape.
“The party tonight? You know, Slytherins like to make a big deal after they win anything, especially quidditch I suppose.” Cho rolled her eyes.
“I’m too busy to party. Anyways, Ravenclaw has nothing to do with this.” I muttered. “I have nothing to do with this.”
“It would make Harry so jealous, think about it. If he sees that you were hanging around Slytherin boys on their turf, he might stop leading you on. You know, ask you out.” Cho smiled, grabbing the quill from my ink stained hands.
“Stop it, Cho. I’m above playing silly games for a boys attention” I said, trying to grab my quill from her grasp. “Especially after that boy snogged Ginny Weasley before flying out before yesterday’s game.” I frowned, feeling sick just thinking about him tucking a strand of hair behind her ear before laying one on her.
“He kissed Ginny? How am I only now finding out, y/n? The game was this morning, & it’s well past 3 now. You should’ve told me. Is this why you ran out before the game was over? And it’s not about playing games, it’s about sending a message. Anyways, you’ve been studying for this quiz for two weeks straight. I miss my best friend… & I want a few drinks. Maybe some time alone with Blaise.” Cho offered a small smile.
“Zabini?” I asked, sliding my potions notes to the side. “Well now I must know. You like Zabini?” I smirked.
“He’s sweet. You know, he slips me notes in divination. It drives Nott crazy. He hates that his mate likes a Ravenclaw girl. Perhaps he’s projecting. I’ve seen the way he looks at Luna.” Cho shyly smiled, placing her hand underneath her chin.
“I hadn’t told you because I felt like an idiot. And I only went to cheer Harry on. Well, before I saw him snogging Ginny.” I paused, taking my hair out of my claw clip. “And by the way, I think they’re all trouble, you know… the Slytherin boys. You’re better off finding a sweet boy elsewhere.” I replied, grabbing her free hand.
“Like Harry? He’s such a nice guy that he’s been leading you on for months.” She said, rolling her eyes. “At least I know Blaise isn’t seeing anyone else. Astoria asked him to sneak out after the potions quiz and go to the black lake and he practically laughed in her face.”
“Let’s study, Cho. Do you even know the ingredients for Amortentia?” I asked, smiling at her.
“Rose thorns, peppermint, gods I love peppermint, powdered moonstone, ashwinder eggs & pearl dust. Mine would probably smell like sandal wood cologne, green tea… oh & that gum he’s always chewing.” She smirked. “I’ll be fine y/n, and so will you. You’re coming tonight. I promise that Harry will regret kissing her.”
Cho took her hand from underneath her chin and grabbed my second one.
“Let’s go back to our dorm and brainstorm some outfits.” She smirked. “ I simply can’t have you looking a mess.” She laughed.
“If I stay in bed tonight you’ll never let me hear the end of it, is that right?” I replied, rolling my eyes with affection.
“Gods, you’re quite the clever girl, y/n.” She grinned, showing her perfect teeth. “Now, grab all of your things, and meet me in our room in 30. I have to go pick something up.” She said before walking away from my table.
“I never look a mess, Cho!” I screamed out, instantly earning the nasty stares of some Hufflepuff students that had been studying a few rows down.
I always tried avoiding the portrait hall when walking back the the Ravenclaw tower on the west side of the castle. They always whispered as I passed by, gossiping and laughing. I truly didn’t understand why they seemed to dislike me so much. Some comments that slipped through the loud music in my headphones have all had to do with Slytherin house. They would snicker on about how I wasn’t in the right house. Perhaps they didn’t think I was smart enough to be a Ravenclaw. But today, I was in a rush to get back to lay in my bed for a few moments before having to go to this stupid party. Gods, I’d do anything for Cho. I’d have to face their laughs and comments.
I had always been a determined girl. I didn’t like to be told what I couldn’t do. Perhaps the portraits just sensed my ambition, but they have no idea how boundless my thirst for knowledge was. What do they know, they’re stupid paintings on a wall gathering dust because Filtch isn’t very keen on keeping them clean after all of the comments they’ve made about him & his cat. Perhaps they just like to be mean. Must be boring to be up on those walls all day long.
As I made my way up the changing staircases to head towards the west wing of the castle, I heard a portrait of a lady wearing pearls around her neck & blue earrings call out my name. I begrudgingly turned towards her, just wanting to get out as quickly as I could.
“Careful now little bird, rumour has it that some Slytherin boys have taken up an interest in you.” She giggled, taking a sip from the glass of white wine she was holding.
“Thank you for your concern.” I coldly answered, picking up my pace.
“Why would anyone have to be concerned?” Said a familiar, cruel voice.
I quickly turned my face back to the top of the stairs I was climbing just to see a tall, blonde, arrogant boy. He was leaning on the wall next to the mahogany door that leads to the west wing of the castle.
“I’d be quite flattered if I were you, love.” He smiled, taking a step towards me. “I heard that you were coming to our little gathering. I’m so glad you’re choosing to spend time with people who won’t trade you in for a lesser model.” He sneered.
“Malfoy. Please get out of my way.” I spat, not wanting to give him any nervous reaction. “I’m not going for you, or any of your little friends. I’m looking to have a good time with my best friend.”
“Oh sure, y/n. How miserable it must be to spend time with a good looking, smart & charming guy that has… plans for you.” He laughed, closing the distance with another step.
He was wearing his quidditch uniform, and was still a little disheveled from the match. His hair feel in front of his grey eyes and a smirk was plastered on his face, his smile wrinkling his pale cheeks. He had played well today, although I hated to admit it. He had won against Ravenclaw last week as well, and Cho had been furious, I guess she still is. She had trained for weeks for that match, wanting to win against Blaise. I think they had concocted some sort of bet. The nature of which I rather not know. She was always so competitive, but I loved that about her.
Malfoy had knocked Grant Page off of his broom and he’d been in the hospital wing ever since. Cho had screamed in terror watching the blue capes falling through the air before a professor threw a protecting spell his way. Honestly, Malfoy’s ego was probably bruised from so many people belonging to other houses cheering on Gryffindor at today’s match. We all desperately wanted to take down Slytherin’s team. Even I was considering getting on a broom and getting the job done.
“Plans? I’m not interested in anything you might be thinking, Malfoy. I’m only coming to hangout with Cho.” I replied, taking a few steps towards him.
“Mmhm, sure love. I’m looking forward to seeing you. Wear something pretty.” He said brushing past me.
“I won’t stay long enough for you to appreciate the sight, Malfoy.” I said, feeling bold & witty.
“We’ll see.” He coldly replied, making his way down the stairs towards his own common room.
I hate how nervous he made me. Maybe I’m just tired, or angry and wanting to hurt Harry. Kissing Draco Malfoy tonight would most definitely hurt him. Would that be so bad? I’m certain Malfoy would do anything to piss off Harry.
I quickly got rid of that thought and made my way up to the Ravenclaw tower. I knew I had to stay focused, since I wouldn’t be able to answer the question necessary so that I could enter the common room.
“What came first, the phoenix or the flame?” The whisper emanating from the bronze knocker asked.
“No beginnings to a circle, huh.” I said, just wanting to enter my quarters.
The door slowly creaked opened to the beautiful common room I called home. I loved it here. Everyone was either in a serious philosophical conversation or had their nose buried in a book. The ceilings had live constellations and whispered things only the stars could know. I closed the door behind me and walked towards Luna.
“Have you seen Cho?” I asked, stealing one of the chocolates off of the plate of sweets that sat on her study table and taking a bite of it.
“Oh I haven’t, y/n, I’m terribly sorry. The stars tell me that you’ve got a busy evening planned. I thought that we could go down to the lake and draw our reflections, but I guess you’re busy.” She smiled, grabbing a chocolate herself.
I quickly swallowed to answer her.
“Luna, you know I’d rather spend the night with you. I’m only going because, well, Cho wants to go. Would you like to join? It could be fun!” I smiled, eating the second half of the chocolate.
“Okay y/n! I’d really like to come. Perhaps that Theo boy would like to hangout. I find him quite pretty. He thinks I’m quite pretty, too. I saw it in my tea leaves.” She said, tucking her hair behind her ear, offering a sweet smile “And I haven’t been to a party since that Hufflepuff one in September.” She smiled, her head already in the clouds.
“Alright then, Luna. Cho and I will be ready to leave in a few hours. Just come to our room when you want to get ready.” I smiled, grabbing another chocolate. “Mmhm, cherry! My favourite.” I laughed, biting into the chocolate.
Luna, Cho and I are very close. We’d come to be quite close during our first year, and we didn’t really have many friends outside of ourselves. I guess Luna was friends with Harry, Ron and Hermione. She had also dated Neville, that other Gryffindor boy. She had broken up with him after a divination session, where she learned that he had cheated on her with Lavender Brown. She was devastated, but Luna has always had a unique look on life. She’s been doing ok, and now I suppose she’s ready to meet someone new. I swear, if both of my best friends start dating Slytherins I’m going to go insane.
I walked up to the dorm that I shared with them. I loved our little corner of the castle. Luna had a great sense of style and had decorated it with antiques and magical items that I had never heard of. She had a phone that didn’t connect to any line, all it did was whispers people’s secrets that it had picked up without revealing their identities. It’s how I found out that Cho had stolen my muggle food stash without telling me. It was the most we had ever laughed, and that night ended with us sneaking out and getting food from the three broomsticks.
I walked over to my closet and pulled out a few options before placing them on my bed, where I laid a moment later. I could just stay here, grab my book and study for a few more hours today. My coffee was still in my system and I knew that my brain could take it.
A few moments passed and I almost fell asleep. I guess that the emotional load of finding out that Harry was into snogging other girls weighed on me. Not that he had ever kissed me, I guess.
“Get up, y/n!” Cho screamed upon entering our dorm. “We must get ready. No more sleeping. I come bearing gifts!”
“Luna’s coming with us, by the way.” I said, groggy. I just wanted to sleep. “What gifts.” I tried to hide my smile.
“Oh wonderful!” She smiled. “You know, Blaise said that Theo was into her. He’s a real gentleman, he won’t do what Longtrousers did to her.” She laughed. “Oh and, I got some muggle alcohol. The good stuff. Remember that night we spent in London?”
I stood up, smiled and walked over to her, grabbing one of the two beers that had the G logo, although I didn’t really know what it was called.
“Aberto!” I laughed, using my wand to open it up.
Cho walked over to her own closet and picked out a short, white dress made of silk. It had long, bell sleeves and a low cut back. She picked up some red kitten heels with a wrap around strap around the ankles and sat down at her vanity.
“Necklace or no necklace, y/n?” She asked, picking up her favourite lip liner.
“No necklace. For sure. Cute earrings, though. And put your hair in a ponytail. I’ll curl it for you, too.” I said, smiling through my yawn, taking a sip of the drink.
“Thanks, best friend.” She replied, blowing me a kiss.
My own outfit consisted of a short black dress that flared out towards the bottom. It has a high neck and it was also backless. I put on my black kitten heels as well, copying Cho. I even put on a silver anklet. Perhaps I was vain. I just wanted to feel good after this morning. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror near my bed. I hadn’t noticed that my eyes were puffy. I don’t even remember crying. I suppose that going out wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. I took another sip, and realized that it was already half empty.
I grabbed my curling iron and got to work on my long, brown hair. I wanted to look good. Hot. I just wanted to make him jealous. Make him wish he had kissed me this morning. I know the Golden Trio would be hanging around the courtyard tonight. They always hang around there on hot nights like these, so I’d make sure to walk past so that he could see what he could’ve had.
“I’m ready for your hair, Cho.” I said, walking towards her vanity.
“Make me look as hot as you, y/n.” She smirked.
“Awn stop. You flatter me.” I blush, grabbing a strand of her ponytail to curl.
Cho looked gorgeous. Zabini was a lucky guy. I hope he treats her like a queen, or I’ll make sure that he just so happens to be unlucky for the rest of the school year with a simple hex. Maybe curse him to lose balance off of his broom, too. Not enough to hurt him, maybe just bruise his ego.
“Don’t you girls look lovely!” Luna squealed, running up into the room. “I’ll be wearing my pink glittery dress, I hope it hasn’t gone missing. Some people like to hide my clothes you know. They think its funny.” She smiled.
“I saw it in your closet, Luna.” Cho smiled. “I was looking to find your enchanted lucky candy.”
“Oh, I’m terribly sorry Cho, I’ve run out of those. But I promise tonight will be a great night for you. I’ve seen it, you know. I checked both of your drinks this morning. Cho, your green tea told me about some romantic gesture from a boy. You haven’t told me of any boy!” She giggled, slipping her dress on.
“Oh, well, yes. I’ve been seeing Blaise.” Cho shyly smiled. “It’s been great. He’s great. Oh, and a fantastic kisser, you know.” She giggled.
“How wonderful! Our boyfriends will be friends then. I’m going to start seeing Theo soon, you know. I’ve seen it.” Luna replied, grabbing her lipgloss from her bag.
“What did my drink say, Luna?” I asked, tentatively.
“I’m sorry, y/n. It was clouded with some kind of… darkness. Not sure what it means. I guess you’ll have to tell me in the morning.” She replied, putting her sparkling blue heels on.
Darkness? That’s really… great. That’s just what I need, betrayal & all.
A few hours passed and all we did was share stories and laugh together. Luna told us all about the research she’s done for her magical creatures paper. Hagrid was giving her a hard time, since he didn’t believe in Nargles. Just something that children made up, he had told her. She told us that she had finally found an obscure footnote in some ancient textbook proving their existence. But, Luna also let us know that the book had been stolen by Nargles. She had hung mistletoe all over our dorm in hopes to trap the one that took it from her.
“Perhaps I should threaten them with some potion from Slug & Jitters, too.” She said, looking up to the constellations on the ceiling. “They’d leave my research alone!”
I started to lose focus on the conversation, my mind drifting back to Luna’s reading. I figured that the bad omen was probably going to manifest as the sight of Harry snogging Ginny tonight. Nothing felt worse than that. Well, I hope there isn’t anything worse than that.
Perhaps seeing Malfoy all smug in the hall of portraits was worse. Seeing his blonde hair all dishevelled, a smirk glued to his lips made me uneasy.
What did he mean by plans?
“Alright now, time to go” Cho smiled. “Perhaps y/n will find herself a Slytherin boy to get her mind off of the golden boy”.
“I’d rather serve a sentence in Azkaban, Cho.” I laughed, feeling sick at the thought of what could’ve been. “Let’s go get this over with.” I smiled, wishing I could take this dress off and lay down in bed.
Although I couldn’t hear the party from the hallway we were standing in, I could most definitely feel it. Slytherins were always clever with their gatherings. They’d make sure to prepare their common room with a silence charm, ensuring that professors would stay away. Although mainly, they wanted to keep away those who weren’t invited. They don’t want any Gryffindors showing up. I could feel the energy through the walls, and I guess it felt… fun. I needed a bit of fun.
Luna, Cho & I all made our way down to the cold stone door shaped like a serpent, the sound of our heels clicking and echoing through the empty hall.
“I’ve got to admit, I’m a tad nervous. What if people make fun of me. You know, some of them know that I liked Harry. I’m sure word has spread that he’s found himself a girl.” I said, looking at the ground.
“Y/n, you’re ok. I know it’s awful, but you’re out, you’re smart & you’re better than he is. In every way.” Cho smiled, grabbing my hand. “Oh, and everyone will be too drunk to even notice us there.” She laughed, squeezing it tightly.
“Gosh, it’s so very loud here!” Luna said, covering both of her ears.
“Luna it’s charmed to be quiet, how are you able to hear it?” I replied, confused at her remark.
“Perhaps you aren’t as perceptive today, you know, clouded by darkness and all, y/n.” She said, lowering her hands, straightening out her dress.
Perhaps she was right, although Luna always did seem to have her head in the clouds.
Harry wasn’t in the courtyard. None of them were. My heels echoed there, too.
I would’ve seen him when we walked over.
Perhaps they’re doing more than snogging now. I’ve got to find a guy to kiss, too.
The dark, grey stone walls were illuminated by the floating orbs of light over the students in the common room. They shone down a cold, green light which showed all of the Slytherins celebrating their big win of the day. A cloud of smoke floated around the students, which only got denser as more cigarettes got lit. The crowd was bigger than I expected, and I didn’t know whether it was a good thing. I could smell the perfumes & colognes of the students, which reminded me that so many of them came from money. They would curse me if I dropped a drink on one of their outfits. Gods I wouldn’t be able to have more than 2 drinks then.
The nerves that had been brewing for the past few hours almost started to drain from my body, which was no doubt the result of a “loosen up” spell. I had heard that Slytherins liked to cast them, wanting everyone at their parties to be chill. I wouldn’t call it fair play, but I supposed there wasn’t many fair Slytherins out there.
“Ladies, welcome!” A deep voice said, breaking through my thoughts.
“Blaise.” Cho smiled, jumping into his arms.
“Happy to see me? I figured you’d be bummed to see me win again, love.” He smirked, embracing her.
She seems happy. Perhaps he was a good person. Or just decent enough to seem better than the others.
“Anyways, welcome to Slytherin central, girls. Liquor is too my right, behind the couch… where Mattheo seems to be snogging 2 girls already. Huh. Cho, beautiful, gorgeous, blimey, you look good.” He trailed off. “Cho, you can go up to my dorm, I’ve got a surprise for you. As for you lot, go mingle.” He smiled, taking Cho’s hand and placing a delicate kiss on it.
“See you in a bit, Blaise.” Cho smirked, headed towards the drink table.
“Cho? What do we do?” I asked while my brain failed to send nervous signalling to the rest of my body.
“Just have fun, stay away from Mattheo, and Tom.” She smiled, turning away.
“Well I suppose it’s just us then, y/n. Although, I’ll be off soon. Theo is waiting for me.” Luna said, her voice airy and hopeful.
It’s nice to see her so happy. Everyone is so awful to Luna, I hope she’s right about this guy.
“I supposed I’ll make my way to the drinks as well.” I muttered to myself.
The crowd wasn’t easy to navigate, which wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t feel everyone’s eyes on me. Although, perhaps they simply didn’t know who I was. I wasn’t t the most outspoken student. I knew that Slytherins weren’t so keen on outsiders, but maybe I could find a cute boy and hang around him for a bit. Perhaps rumours would spread and they would make Harry jealous.
I wish Ginny would leave. I wish he was mine. I hate her.
My thoughts felt heavy, and I was guilt ridden. Ginny hadn’t done anything to me, not really. It wasn’t her fault. As far as I know, he was doing the exact same thing to her. Although, I doubt he would hurt his best mate’s baby sister. But still, the thought of her face filled me with anger.
“What are you drinking?” I absentmindedly asked whoever was standing next to me at the makeshift bar.
“Talking to me, doll?” Said a voice I had the displeasure of recognizing.
“Malfoy.” I said, rolling my eyes. “I didn’t know it was you. Disregard my question.”
“Oh, no. I’m so glad you asked. I’m having scotch, single malt of course. Nothing you would find at this table. I’ve got a personal stash in my room. Well, I’m sure Mattheo has taken the liberty of taking a few bottles for tonight.” He smirked, looking into my eyes.
He was wearing black dress pants and a dark cardigan. His hair looked more pale than usual in this light, and his eyes looked sharp and hungry. I quickly grabbed the first bottle of something on the table and poured its contents out into a red cup. Without looking up, I downed half the dark liquid, hoping that Malfoy would get the message.
“Nervous? Perhaps the spell isn’t strong enough to help you. Pathetic.” He laughed, taking a sip of his own drink, which was in a black coffee mug.
“Not nervous, just wanting to get away from you. Perhaps I will go see Mattheo, see about that scotch.” I smiled, walking away from him.
I caught his smirk falter out of the corner of my eye. That bothered him. It really bothered him. He didn’t want me to go see him, which only motivated my efforts more. I downed the rest of my drink and made my way to the couch.
“I heard you had some expensive drinks, Riddle.” I smiled, trying my best to flirt.
“Oh, have you now sweetheart? Anything for a creature like you.” He cooed, pushing a Slytherin girl off of his lap. “I wondered when you’d make your way to me, you’re far more… interesting than the girls here. Very pretty. I noticed you right as you walked in.” He smirked, waving at me to come sit down.
“Soooo sweet.” I said, feeling a first wave of intoxication, tripping over my first word. I suppose that drink from earlier had finally made its way into my bloodstream.
“How’s about you poor meee a drink and we get to know each otherrr.” I smiled, sitting down next to him, not daring to be too close.
The Slytherin girl he had been toying with seemed livid, saying something I didn’t hear, and hurriedly made her way to Malfoy. He instantly pushed her off, keeping his eyes locked on me.
Mattheo quickly closed the distance between us, placing his hand on my thigh. I twitched, I wasn’t used to guys being this forward.
“Give me your glass, love.” He ordered, pushing his hand higher.
“Um. Yes, okaayy.” I said, pushing back into the couch.
“Good, and relax. I’ll be gentle with you.” He cooed, pouring his drink in to my cup. “I’ve got as much as you might want, pretty.”
I quickly drank half, preparing myself for whatever was going to happen, unable to process my nerves, yet unsure of what I really wanted. I want to make Harry jealous. It’s all I could think of.
Would Harry really care about me snogging Mattheo?
“Mattheo, back off.” Malfoy ordered, his shadow consuming me.
I hadn’t even noticed him in front of me, he must have moved quite quickly.
“Loosen up, Draco. I’m just looking to have some fun with miss…” He trailed off, looking for my name.
“Y/n.” I replied, instinctively.
“Mmhm, so delicious. Y/n…” Mattheo replied, placing his hand dangerously close to my underwear.
A chill ran down my spine and butterflies erupted in my stomach, quickly aquainting themselves with the liquor down there.
“She’s with me, and you know I don’t share.” Malfoy smirked, grabbing my hand.
“Oh we can have some fun, Draco. Like when we…” Mattheo trailed off. “Well, come back later.” He smirked, pouring himself a new drink.
I wasn’t quite sure what to do, but I most definitely didn’t want Mattheo to feel me up in front of everyone at this party, so I let Malfoy lead me to a hallway away from the crowd. I felt the drinks make my mind fuzzy, and I suppose I’d be inclined to make a bad decision or two. Perhaps Mattheo would treat me better than Harry did. He’d already shown more interest than Harry ever did.
What did Draco say? Draco… mmhm…
My heels were starting to feel uncomfortable. I wish I was the kind of girl who walked around in these all day. Some girls in Slytherin would walk around in these red bottom shoes, although I didn’t know what they were called. I had seen Pansy step on a Gryffindor’s robe and laugh while wearing a pair, once. It’s not like I admired her, well, perhaps I admired her confidence. Or rather, her audacity.
Draco led me to a staircase and let go of my hand. I could barely hear the music now, and the lights were darker. The hallway felt colder than before, and my buzz was only getting stronger.
“Go up the stairs love, I’ll be behind you if you fall. You seem intoxicated.” He said, a serious glint in his eyes.
“Mm good, Malfoy.” I slurred, “You’re just as intoxicated.”
“I handle my liquor better, love.” He replied, taking a sip of his drink.
I made my way up the stairs, feeling his eyes watching my every move. Why was he being so obsessive? I’m just trying to have a good time. Perhaps enact some revenge.
Didn’t he say he had a plan earlier? Did he tell Mattheo that I was his?
The stairs led to a new hallway lined with tall doors. They were all arched and had serpents slithering in stone overhead. It feels dark, here.
Malfoy slowly circled me, and backed me up against a door. Fuck.
“ I like you y/n, you’re ambitious. You know, for a clumsy Ravenclaw. You’d make a great Slytherin, if you weren’t filthy blooded.” A smirk snaked its way onto his lips. “It’s almost cute how pathetic you look right now. Intoxicated, looking for attention from a big, bad Slytherin.”
“Shut up, Malfoy” I bit, taking another swig of my drink, finishing it off. “I’m farrrr too clever to be in that embarrassment of a house.”
His tall frame shadowed over me and the music continued to fade in the background. I could feel the bass through my feet that had fallen numb now. He was still holding his black mug, and I could see that his drink was running low. I never noticed that he smelled of cigarettes & vetiver. Perhaps I had never been so close to him. It felt more intoxicating that the liquor right now. His ring caught my eye, his initials felt intimidating. D.M. looming over his slender hand.
“Right. And that’s why you’re lurking around a Slytherin party. So, so clever. I thought you were Potter’s girl.” He spat before laughing. “Well, that Weasley girl seems to have him around her finger. I guess all of those study sessions weren’t enough, huh.” He smirked. “Maybe you’ll finally realize that you’re far better than any of them.”
“How did you… who told you about those, Malfoy?” I frowned.
“Potter knows how to play games, princess. He knew to give you that ridiculous red jumper when I was in the library.” He snarled. “It’s honestly the only trait of his I respect. He wanted me to know that you wanted him, not me.” His eyes lowered to my lips.
“What are you talking about Malfoy? I thinkkk you’ve had too much to drinkkkk mmhm.” I said, backing into the door. “Allll you’ve done for the past 5 years is torment me.”
“Gods you’re dramatic. Maybe I’ve teased you, but only because you’re so delicious when you’re flustered. The thought of you almost had me completely undone.” He smirked. “You know, love, he’s probably been seeing the Weasley girl for months. I see them sneak kisses before every game we’ve played this year.” He added, watching my face twist into a frown.
“Are you finished, you git? I think I got it. You just loveee the idea that Harry has been toying with me, mmhm. You’re just reelinggg with the fact that I’ve been hurt, huh? Probably because you can’t seem to get better marks than me in anyyyy class. Poor, poor Malfoy, always second besttt.” I spat, turning my back to him and opening the door that he had caged me in. “You’re soooo pathetic.” I slurred.
The room had multiple candles lit, but a darkness loomed over my head.
I noticed a large canopy bed in the centre of the room with a dark brown leather couch in front of it. Silk & satin draped over the sides of the large bed, all different shades of green reminiscent of the darkness that falls upon a forest at dusk. The room smelled of mahogany and musky vanilla, which made my stomach growl. After a few moments, I could see another door in the corner of the room with a large dresser right next to it. It looked ancient. The deep grey stone walls glistened in the light of the fireplace that seemed to be spelled to stay lit at all times. I recognized it as my dorm had been spelled in the same way. Malfoy’s shadow slowly swallowed me whole, and I heard the door close.
“Do you like it, princess? My own room in this castle. My father ensured I wouldn’t have to share with anyone, although this has turned into quite the hangout spot.” He said, and I could hear the smirk on his lips. “You know, you could stay here. One of your roommates has been spending quite a lot of time in Zabini’s room, I’m certain you’ve been lonely. I’d take better care of you than that twat Potter ever could have.”
I slowly turned around and he took a step towards me. He took the final sip of his drink and placed it down on his entrance table. He delicately placed it next to what looked like a tray of perfumes and hand creams.
It all looked very neat. I took a few steps back and he slowly followed suit. After a few more moments of this calculated dance, I fell onto the couch, my buzz settling in my brain.
“Leave me alone, Malfoy. I’ve had too muchhhh to drink and I’m imagining this.” I said, placing my empty drink on his centre table next to his marble chess board.
“What might you be imagining?” He laughed, looking down at me like a predator stalking his prey.
“This, allll of this. You’re not flirting with me.” I slurred, feeling tipsier than before.
Perhaps I was far enough from the common room that the charm was losing its grasp on me. I was starting to feel nervous. Very nervous.
“I believe I am, love. Flirting, that is. I have a proposal for you.” He stated, sitting down next to me, taking off his expensive looking cardigan. “I see the way you’ve looked at me. I know what you want. Perhaps you thought I’d never feel the same way. That’s why you fixated on Potter huh, he was the safe option.”
“What are you saying, Malfoy, I’ve never even considered you as anything more than an enemy. I’d sooner shove my tongue down Riddle’s throat.” I said, retreating further into the couch, avoiding his eyes. “Either.”
My demeanour was betraying me. Maybe I had found him attractive. His cold eyes often loomed in my mind when I let myself drift away in class. I remember when I saw him giggling with Pansy at the Slytherin table all of those times, I guess perhaps I had felt jealous.
“So nervous, y/n. You always try and put up a strong face in public, but I know who you are. I know what you want.” He cooed, looking at my lips.
“Cut to the chase, Malfoy. What’s your proposal. Tell me so that I can get out of here.” I replied, trying to look him in his eyes.
“Date me.” He let his words float to my ears, savouring my shocked expression. “I’ll provide anything beyond your wildest wishes. Gods, you’re such a clever and beautiful girl. I want you on my arm. No other girl even comes close. You can move into my dorm, away from everything. Your only friend already lives here, anyways. Blaise has got her wrapped around his finger, and he’s wrapped around hers.” He said, calmly calculated..
“Excuse me? You want me to date you? And she’s not my only friend. I have Luna, too.” I said, butterflies forming in my stomach. “What about Pansy?”
“Pansy? No. Don’t be silly. I want you. Every inch of you. Wouldn’t you love to see Potter’s reaction to you wearing my jersey during next week’s game? He wouldn’t care as much if you were with Riddle.” He smiled, getting off the couch to take a knee. He gently grabbed my feet one at a time and removed my heels. “Please don’t act like you don’t want this, y/n. You’re already mine. I can feel the way you melt to my touch.”
“But you’re not a nice person, Malfoy.” I said, my voice softer. I felt my buzz get stronger as his scent invaded my nose. Gods I suppose he was violently intoxicating.
“Mmhm, I’d be so delicate with you, doll. Just let me finally call you mine.” He smirked, coming back onto the couch.
“Why me, Malfoy?” I asked, overwhelmed with how I feel.
“Don’t ask ridiculous questions, princess. You’re wildly intelligent, beautiful & you know that you’re better than everyone. Your ambition and drive makes you the perfect partner.” He looked into my eyes, placing his thumb on my cheek.
“You’re quite forward, huh.” I replied with a small smile.
I know that what I want is wrong. Well, I think it’s wrong. He’s not a good person. But, I feel like my skin is on fire. Before my ability to process a rational thought kicked in, I grabbed him by his jaw and pulled him into a kiss. He reciprocated it with such force that I let out a small moan. His lips curled into a smirk against mine and he started to make his way down my neck, leaving bite marks and hickeys along the way.
“Malfoy, I won’t be able to see the light of day with how you’re treating my neck.” I yelped.
“Don’t you worry your pretty little head about anything, love. Everyone needs to know who you belong to now.” He laughed, before biting down on the nape of my neck.
The moan that escaped my lips felt ungodly. This was Draco Malfoy, the boy who everyone hated. Who I hated.
“So glad you came to your senses.” He said, in between kisses, “I don’t know how I was able to live without feeling your skin under my skin.”
He pulled back and I let out a whine. He smirked, pleased at my need for him. He grinned and swiftly lowered the dress I was wearing off of my shoulders.
“Feel free to follow my lead, love.” He softly ordered.
I felt the need to comply, like I was under his spell. His eyes felt drunk with lust and all I wanted to do was please him. I turned around and let him unzip my short black dress, and it fell down to my waist. I stood up and let it fall to my feet, before stepping out and walking in front of where he was sitting.
Fuck. He was the darkness.
“Such a naughty girl, wearing a black lace set. It’s like you knew that I would be seeing it.” He smiled. “I hope you didn’t have any plans on showing that to anyone else.”
“I don’t own any ugly knickers, Malfoy, I have good taste.” I argued.
“Such a good girl, I don’t even have to teach you how to show up for me, huh.” He cooed.
He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer, trailing his finger down my thigh. His ring felt cold to the touch and he quickly spun me around me folded me over his knees. I felt him turn his ring around and spank me on my ass.
“Fuck!? Malfoy that fucking hurts!” I yelled, trying not to moan. “What are you doing?”
“Just marking what’s mine with my initials, princess. I’d want you to get it permanently with a tattoo charm, but this will do for now.” He said, cruelly, placing a kiss over the mark.
“I haven’t even agreed to date you, all I’ve done and kissed you and let you see me in my knickers, Malfoy.” I said, getting on my knees.
“Stop it with the games, y/n. You’re mine. You’re my girlfriend. You want this. I know it. You desire me so… violently.” He said, wrapping his fingers around my throat. “Just admit it, love. I don’t want to waste any more time.”
“What will I get as your girlfriend?” I asked, playing with him.
“Anything you want, anytime you want. I promise to treat you like the princess you are.” He smiled, placing his thumb on my bottom lip.
“Mmhm, enticing offer.” I smirked.
I kissed his thumb and he pushed it harder onto my lips. I slowly opened my mouth and invited him inside, sucking it down while keeping my eyes locked on his. I’ve never seen someone so hungry. He looked like he could devour me and worship me at the same time. His thumb pressed against my tongue and I moaned against him. His smile grew wider like he had finally won.
“Gods, you’re perfect. I had a feeling you were a slut. A perfect little slut for me, huh? I guess I’ll have to treat you like one, too.” He smirked. “Stand up, love. I need you on my bed. There are things that I’ve waited far too long to do to you.”
He took his thumb from my mouth and grabbed my face, pulling it towards him. He slowly kissed me, humming and moaning for a moment. I reached for the buckle on his expensive leather belt and started working at t, trying to get it undone as quickly as possible.
“Don’t throw the belt too far, love, I might want to use it on you.’ He said between kisses. “Or perhaps I’ll bind you with my tie? Since you so easily bowed down to a Slytherin, mmhm.” He cooed.
I threw the belt onto the bed, not even considering that it might be worth more than I am, and unbuttoned his black trousers. His underwear underneath looked expensive as well. Everything about him looked expensive, I suppose. He grabbed my hand and lifted me to my feet. He didn’t have to tell me anything. It’s like my body was completely under his control. It feels strange. I never let anyone tell me what to do, but right now, I feel so good giving up control. I felt like he would take good care of me. Perhaps I was drunk, or perhaps it was the spelled common room. Regardless, I wanted this. I wanted him. Desperately.
“Such a good girl.” He smiled. “Following my orders sooo well.”
I sat back onto the bed and let myself look at him. My eyes trailed over his upper body. Gods, he looked good. The candles in the room perfectly illuminated his chest that looked like it was sculpted by some saint. His beauty was almost cruel. He kneeled in front of me, and kissed the inside of my thigh.
“I promise to make you so happy, y/n, to worship you. I promise to make you forget about that idiot boy that broke your heart.” He smiled softly against my skin.
“This doesn’t feel real, Draco.” I said, trying to understand the events until now.
“Mmhm, my name sounds so beautiful on your lips.” He said, kissing a little bit higher up my thigh.
“Fuck, Draco.” I moaned out as a result of his hand being placed on my lower stomach. “You’re just saying all of this to get me to take my clothes off… which I suppose I’ve already done.” I said rolling my eyes, trying to free myself from his hold.
“Tsk, love. I’ve already purchased 4 suitcases worth of luxury clothes and jewelry for you. They’re in the lavatory. Oh, and so many products. Perfumes, makeup…” He laughed, placing his right hand on my waist. “Of course I’ve got more on the way, don’t worry. I’m having a closet installed for you, too. I can’t have you looking like anything less than what you’re worth.”
“Shush, y/n.” I’m not just trying to see you naked. I want you. Now, let me show you how hungry I am for that perfect little cunt of yours.” He said before sliding my knickers down my thighs.
He carefully slid them all the way down, making sure not to break them. Everything he did seemed perfectly calculated. Even now in his lust. He began with licking the inside of my leg, slowly biting and kissing his way up to my core. All I could see was stars. He placed both of his hands inside of my upper thigh, and forced me to stay open. My legs were already shaking with anticipation, perhaps nerves as well. I’d be lying if I said that I hadn’t thought about this happening. A few times. Maybe more than a few times.
“Mmhm, y/n. You taste like vanilla.” He moaned, his tongue finding its way to my core.
The moan that escaped my lips only made him hungrier. He found his way to my clit, and circled it with his tongue, testing my sensitivity.
I couldn’t even remember what I had been so upset about, there couldn’t be a better feeling than this. Draco Malfoy’s tongue was doing ungodly things to me, and it seemed like he had been waiting, starving for a long time.
“Fuck, Dray-” I started, unable to finish my sentence.
“Shush, princess.” He said licking me all the way to my clit. “Let me show you how bad I want you.”
“Mmhm… I… I’m… um.” I started. “…Never done this, Dray-.” I moaned out.
“You’re a virgin, love?” He said, smiling against my core. “A virgin with the sluttiest knickers I’ve ever seen? That’s quite hard to believe, now.” He laughed, kissing my inner leg.
“I just thought, maybe they’d give me confidence to go out and…” I started, trying to stabilize my legs against his palms.
“And? Who were you planning on being with here?” He said, a hint of jealousy in his voice.
“I-… After our conversation earlier, I thought… perhaps we’d kiss… make, you-know-who, jealous.” I stammered, nervous to admit the truth.
“Such a good girl, you know better than to say his name. I don’t ever want to hear his name coming from your lips. You’re mine, now.” He said, biting my inner thigh, making me scream out. “Be as loud as you want, doll, my room is spelled to block all noise from the outside.” I felt his teeth against me.
Draco stood up and took a long look at me, laying on his bed, exposed and nervous. He walked over to his dresser and took a tie that was neatly folded, just like all of his other clothes.
“Don’t worry, doll. I won’t do anything too… extreme tonight. We’ll have time for that very soon. I plan on taking things slow with you.” Draco said from across the room.
He slowly made his way back to me, and I sat up on the bed, letting my feet dangle over the ornate green carpet that covered the dark mahogany floors. I tried opening my mouth, but I wasn’t able to say anything. How would I date him if I couldn’t say anything?
“Can’t find the words? Too nervous?” He laughed, placing a kiss on my forehead.
“I suppose.” I said, looking up into his eyes.
“There’s no need to be nervous. You’re with me. I promise to make your life so much better. I take good care of what’s mine, love.” He smiled tucking a stray piece of hair behind my ear. “Gods, your neck really does look messed up.” He laughed. “Everyone will know what we’ve been up to. So good, doll. Now, place your hands above your head.”
“Oh yea?” I tried, feeling riskier. “What happens if I don’t?”
“Mmhm… now you want to be difficult? I don’t want you to resist love, I like you… obedient.” He whispered into my ear. “Strong headed with everyone else, but a good, submissive girl with me.” He cooed, watching my arms rise above my head.
“Just like that, such a good listener.” He smiled, placing a kiss on my lips.
He made quick work of binding my wrists up with his green and silver tie. He very carefully tied the knot, and I couldn’t even try and struggle against it.
“Don’t bother, princess. It’s spelled. It’ll only get tighter if you struggle. I prepared it this morning, knowing that I’d see you in this position before the day was over.” He smirked, satisfied with the nervous look in my eyes.
“How did you know?” I asked, lowering my arms in front of me.
“Mmhm, I always get what I want.” He whispered, grabbing my wrists, lifting them back up and pining me down to the bed. “Did I say you could lower these? You’ll need to be punished, doll.” He smirked.
“Punished? Dray-” I started.
“You’ll enjoy it.” He whispered. “I promise you’ll always enjoy what I plan on doing to you. Gods, I’ll take such good care of you, y/n. I just want to have some fun with my girl.” He smiled, kissing my cheek.
I softened my body, trusting him.
He started by kissing my lips, making his way down to my bruised neck.
“Gods, I really did go a little wild, y/n. Perhaps I am a little sorry… mmhn… not really.” He delicately smiled, softly kissing the bite marks.
His lips found my stomach and his long fingers made their way down to my heat. He slowly started circling my clit, and my body tensed at the warm feeling. I couldn’t help my wrists wriggling, feeling his tie tighten up around them.
“Should I continue?” He teased.
Gods I need him. I’ve always needed him.
“What time is it, Draco?” I asked, cuddled in his cardigan and my black lace knickers.
“About 2 in the morning, love.” He replied kissing my forehead.
“I should get back to my friends. They’re probably wondering were I’ve gone.” I replied, feeling sober.
“Perhaps we should go back to the party. Just put on some trousers, doll. That’s only for my eyes.” He smirked, looking down at my kickers.
I stood up and looked back down at him. Gods, he was beautiful. And I suppose he was mine.
“Yes.” I said, putting his trousers on myself.
“Yes? Yes what, doll.” Draco asked, sitting up on the bed, muttering Accio dark green cardigan & black trousers.
“I want to be your girlfriend.” I smiled.
He jumped out of bed and picked me up off the ground.
“Gods, you looks delicious in my clothes, love. But I’ve got many suitcases that I had curated for you.” He smiled, kissing my cheek.
“Yes, well. I’ll take a look. Let me just go wish my friends a goodnight. I’ll stay here for the night. Anyways, we don’t have class tomorrow. We’ll talk about us, and you can show me all of the clothes you picked out” I softly smiled, placing a kiss on his lips.
The boy from this morning felt like a ghost of the past. Draco was all I could think of now.
Cho was cuddled up with Blaise on the brown leather couch where Mattheo had sat earlier. They were whispering in each other’s ears and His hand was placed on Cho’s thigh. She had a blinding new necklace on, no doubt the gift Blaise had picked out for her. I could see Luna and Theo in the corner of the room through the thick smoke, and she looked like she was giggling. The room was quieter than it had been before, and I wondered how long I had been gone. Draco’s hand was placed on my waist possessively, and my bruised neck was on full display. Although, I didn’t really care. I knew this would get back to… I don’t even think I cared anymore. Brilliant.
“Ready to share, Draco?” I heard Mattheo’s voice break my thoughts. “I’d like my turn now.”
Draco placed a kiss on my neck and took another bite.
“She’s mine, Riddle. Officially.” Draco smirked against me, tightening his grip against my waist, making me flinch into his lips.
“Malfoy, finally tied down? I never thought I’d see the day.” Mattheo smirked. “I’m happy for you. Perhaps this will make you more bearable, loosen up. Make you less angsty & brooding.” He laughed, taking a swig of his drink. “Gods, I can see the carnage from here.” He said, pointing his lit cigarette at my neck.
“Y/n?” I heard Cho yell from the couch. “Are you… Malfoy?” She asked, puzzled.
“Sweetheart, Draco will take good care of her.” Blaise said kissing her cheek.
“Hush, Blaise. You’ve been with Malfoy?” She smirked.
“Um, yea. He, uh…” I started, fumbling all of my words.
“We’re dating.” Draco answered for me, grabbing my chin and pulling my face towards him, kissing my lips.
“Mmhn, interesting. Y/n, I suppose things changed.” Cho smiled, kissing Blaise. “I’m happy that you’ll be hanging with me here.”
“I’ll be moving your things out tomorrow, princess.” Draco whispered into my ear.
“I can’t leave Luna alone, Draco.” I replied, nervously playing with my thumb ring. “This is all too new. I need time.”
“I promise she’ll be alright, I’m certain Theo will escape to your old dorm soon. He has a… soft soul for a Slytherin. Perhaps he’ll like living with Ravenclaws.” Draco laughed, taking my hand and placing a kiss on it. “I promise to take good care of you, you’ll never want to leave my side, so you might as well move now.”
He was very forward in public. I suppose I had never been like this with someone. It felt nice to feel so protected. His hands freely roamed all over me, almost as if we’ve been together forever. I could tell that he had waited for this.
“Mmhm, I think we’re going to head back to bed, I have more things to show you.” He smirked against my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
Perhaps he was darkness, but I felt entirely consumed by it now.
