TW: blood!
Hey did anyone ask for doodles with my OC Jonathan from my Batman fic FCMH SCMS?? No? Well, here they are! Because I am procrastinating, and I might as well post the doodles that I’m using to procrastinate.
Minor spoiler warning, I guess, for the fate of some of the side characters in the fic?? Their fates span several chapters so I can’t say specifically which chapter it’s a spoiler for.
I did mention in a A/N that Jonathan was gonna dye his hair. I still wanna make a smol comic with the scene, but in the mean time you lovelies can have this.
Honestly don’t know how Jonathan managed to deal with his father for so long, couldn’t be me lol.
Should I do a little explanation of the side character’s and their fates? I probably should, because it can be kinda hard to piece together unless explicitly stated.
Marcel — Martin’s side piece The guy who’s an overall handyman in their facility. Got a problem with test samples? A problem with plumbing and Dr Willard refuses to hire a professional to take care of it? Marcel can help. He’s a strong silent type who isn’t the most social, but he’ll help anyone who asks to the best of his ability.
Of course he’s probably the most we’ve seen of another researcher other than Martin and Jonathan, so he’s appeared in quite a few scenes. And it’s normally been pretty clear it’s Marcel if he does appear in a scene.
He was the one who tried to shoot the two dragons -even if he was never properly trained in that department- and Jason subsequently burnt his face off.
But he is alive! Barely, but he is. And Dr Willard really didn’t take it well when he learned what happened to Marcel.
Sarah — A side character that has reappeared now and again, but it’s hard to pinpoint as a reader because she’s not always referred to by name. Normally identified by the unidentifiable stains on her lab coat, she was one of the scientist testing on the two brothers when they were being scanned. She was also the one driving the second van that Jason was being transported in.
All of the scientists are smart, but Sarah is extremely quick thinking and adaptable. She made the decision to try and run Tim over even though they were terrified. She was also the one who used a wrench to smash Tim’s head in to get him off of Marcel.
And when she saw Jason, she was immediately like ‘lol, nope. Not dying today -see ya!’ And got out of there as quick as she could, because she understood the depth of the situation. Unfortunately leaving Marcel to a worse fate, but hey, she got out alive and that’s the most important thing for her.
So arguably one of the most intelligent people in that bunker.
Also, unlike most of the rest, she understood how serious their little research testing was becoming in the grand scheme of things. So instead of going back to Dr Willard and quitting, she decided to go into hiding and try her best to remain under the radar. Because she knows this will only snow ball into worse things, and she doesn’t want to be associated with it.
Mike — oh sweet, unfortunate Mike. Appeared, died, then got a tiny itty-bit of explanation from Jonathan’s POV. He’s the guy who got BD’d when Jason and Tim were exposed to abyssal salt initially.
He was closest to Jonathan compared to the rest, and it was only just before he died that it revealed how regretful he was of being a part of the facility. It was in direct contrast to what he told Jonathan, with how they needed to just continue on and not think too hard about it.
But of course Jonathan wasn’t there to hear the wails of man who knew he was about to die.
And that’s all the focus he’ll get in the fic… alive atleast ;)
Margret — The unfortunate soul who tried to restrain Jason and got her arm ripped apart by his newly formed teeth.
Of course when reading, you have no clue who gets injured in the fic until they refer to her by name a few chapters later. And of course she didn’t stay long because the injuries were serious enough that Dr Willard had to allow her to go to a hospital.
Fun fact! She has no clue what happened in the bunker after she left. She was officially cut from the program for security reasons, and forced to sign who knows how many NDA’s when she was barely lucid enough in the hospital. She doesn’t know what was happening to the test subjects. And she doesn’t know that the test subjects got out.
Of course Dr Willard is keeping an eye on her, but I can assure you it’s for no noble reasons.
~•~
So yeah! Those are the little side characters in the fic, I know it can be hard to distinguish who’s who (especially from Tim and Jason’s POV), but it was done on purpose -and they’re not that important anyway. Hopefully, this little post can just clear it up if anyone was actually curious.
If anyone is somehow interested enough in these goobers, and has some questions; feel free to ask! :D
