Does Your Chest Hurt?/ Are you pregnant?
Dr: Do you experience chest pain?
Me: I have recurring costochondritis due to fibromyalgia and the fact that I bind my chest. The costo is in my chart already. My rheumatologist put it in.
Dr: Do you get heart burn?
Me: No.
Dr: Any wheezing shortness of breath, chest pain, soreness?
Me: Yes. But those are all because I bind my chest flat and that aggravates my per-existing conditions.
Dr: Inflamation, aching?
Me: Yes. But those are due to either the costo, fibro, lupus or *me speaking very slowly and clearly* the fact that I bind my chest flat for upwards 8 hours at a time because I am transgender.
Dr: so no chest pain then? Why is it listed on your chart?
Me: When I don't bind no
Dr: So you do have chest pain.
Me: yes.
Dr: you should be seen by cardiology I'll put in for a referral.
Me: Sure. *I give up*
Later when listeining to me breath*
Dr: It sounds like you are a bit short of breath or aren't breathing all the way in. Do you have a history of asthma?
Me: No. It is because I am wearing a compression garment.Like I mentioned, I bind my chest flat.It often restricts my breathing. My old PCP would have me roll up over my ribs or take off my binder to listen. Do you want me to?
Dr: No that won't change anything
Me:...ok...
Note: at this point it is established that I am on T and it is in my chart that I have an IUD
Dr: when was the date of your last menstrual period?
Me: a full one? Like 4..5 months ago so like September? August maybe?
Dr: Have you taken a pregnancy test?
Me: Yes. It is in my chart with all my pre-testosterone blood work.I had to do one at the Dr's because of going on TESTOSTERONE even though I also have an IUD.
Dr: I'll but in an order for one with your new blood work.
Me:...(does he even know what an IUD is? Or testosterone?)
