I've known of the house for decades and knew folks who lived there and came through the house, even folks who lived next door to 309, like Aaron Cometbus. I lived in a similar lovely mess called the Dustbin here in Portland, which is where I first met Aaron. This Bike Is a Pipe Bomb stayed at a different house of mine and screen printed shirts (and my pillowcase!) on my porch while we all ate pie out of cast iron skillet made with backberries picked off the side of the road. I'm also a 90s zine geek and will read anything with Aaron's name attached to it.
