Tony stared at Serena from across the bar while with a group of work mates. The last time he had seen her was in university, 5 years ago when they used to take English literature together. He didn’t want to rush this moment, he enjoyed looking at her from across the room, observing her before he made his move. Tony was now a lawyer but had never forgotten about Serena not because of English literature, but because they had a hot a steamy make out session on the 4th floor in the library. Tony had dated people but never locked himself down because he never found that girl that truly excited him, a girl that he could push against the book self and kiss passionate as he did in his final year with Serena. Serena was a journalist dealing mainly in current affairs and breaking news but on the side she had a Twitter account where she’d express her wildest thought and opinions when it came to sex. Obviously Tony knew this, he follows her Twitter account but by an alliance name. Funny story how he found out about this Twitter handle, he was scrolling through Facebook once when Serena best friend and Tony’s forever crush Rose was telling the world about her life, when he liked one of her pictures and obviously sent him a private message which she always did when he would take interest in anything she posted they then got to talking but in between her babbling her mentioned that Serena maybe have a secret Twitter account that is @21AndAbove and that night Tony went searching only to realize it was called @21OnlyAndAbove and since then he’s been following her and her secret account. He’s never been into Rose, she’s always talking and telling the world her ever move and that has always annoyed Tony, it was Serena he was into, Serena who he wanted to see naked…
So now that it was February 14 and Serena was across the bar from him, all he wanted was to recreate that moment he has never forgotten all this time. He started to think about where he could take her and do the things he has read her tweet about. He wanted to take her in the lobby, or in the elevator he wanted her right then and there…...
So that was just my try at a Romantic, Erotic cliché novel, how did I do?
#Seriously though I don’t know if any of you are experiencing close to what I wrote but I hope that your Valentines is a bit more clam. Speaking of the famous February 14 what is really the point? Is it to bring these crazy fantasy to life, is it only to show the ones we love just how much we love, it is to make single people feel like cuddling their pillow a little tighter because #NoBaeHere why do we make the 14th so important when we know that it’s not about the perfect BAE, or perfect gift or even having that perfect moment relived again.
Instead it all comes from societal pressure of this day. Why not do whatever you want to do, yes you hear me. Celebrate love because it’s beautiful, it’s complicated, crazy yet it can super sexy and super beautiful, why not love him as you always have because he’s a great guy and exactly what you prayed, why not accept that your person is on the way and there’s no reason to hate on the day because others are “showing it off”, why not love the colour red and pink because they are pretty cool colours, why not do with it as you wish.
So yes it’s not about the romantic or erotic or whatever it’s about understanding that love can be expressed in so many ways, with friends, with singles and yes with those of you who are blessed to find someone you really care for and even love. Don’t go around creating an scene that still won’t make you happy, don’t be bitter about others love, don’t be afraid to show your sadness if this day makes you think of heart break, and don’t go around wanting something you know very well you are settling, instead do you and express it as you wish, the 14th is yours and so do it with it as you wish just remembering that love is there and can be expressed in whatever ways you want…
