Do we really need the English language?
Think about it. When was the last time you actually needed English for something in your meaningless life? Yesterday? Today? Right now reading this? Most likely tomorrow?
See? We are moving towards a world where people are going to speak multiple languages and be able to communicate with each other no matter where they come from. But we could just use gestures instead of an actual spoken language that would make everything easier. You could just move your hands around and point to things. That is a future I would want to see.
But noooo, we have to make things hard, with grammar, pronunciation and a lot of shit that makes no fucking sense. Like why the fuck would you say “lift” in England but “elevator” in United States. I mean what in the fuck does “Do you even elevator, bro?” mean anyways.
It is indeed, as you may have thought, concerning. Also there’s people out there that think that speaking English makes you smarter. Does it though? I mean, does learning a whole new language make you actually smarter? Does it really require a bit of skill and work to master most of its grammar? Does it allow you to communicate with plethora of new cultures and people from across the globe? Does it allow you to listen and actually understand an immense catalogue of music, movies, books, articles, etc? DOES IT? Yeah right, i didn’t think so. Check mate Buddhists!
In conclusion, we don’t really need the English language as soon as we have Scottish.
