i know we don't get too much of what their relationship used to be like but i kind of prefer it that way so i can fill the gaps... i think seimei was likely alienated due to being the wyrmclan leader's grandson and his overwhelming talent so he ended up becoming reclusive and more dismissive of the people around him. similarly to what botan's friendship did for ieyasu i think doman was the only person who was willing to spend time with seimei and encourage his skills as an equal rather than a target of veneration.

we get so little of doman's perspective that i don't know what his initial intent when he approached seimei was but i think doman is just someone who chases after power, whether that be good or evil... like even though he's part of the mukuroshu i never got the feeling that he was particularly loyal to tsukuyomi nor really cared about their goals... it actually feels like it was a means to get seimei to chase after him?

and most of all i just love their conclusion because doman left them in a situation where he would have won no matter what and seimei was supposed to have found a way out of that via both of them dying together but by making the "right" choice seimei ultimately has to let doman's goal become manifest... i think about doman's last words all the time. does this sound like a man who's about to die...

youre probably not meant to think too hard about it but id assume it just means major events like alberius' legends and the forming of the ilian church still happened they just occurred... differently?

still confused how hinomoto history ties in with south grastaea's but the concept of the soulpact came to be bc the first shogun wanted to end the war and asked for amaterasu's help... i think the soulpact and wyrmclans still exist the question is how unchanged it is

bc to an extent the new world is the way euden envisioned things the way they should be and his convo w yasu shows that he doesnt exactly agree w the idea of the soulpact shortening lifespans at least in the beginning..

that was a really long preface for what i actually wanted to talk about which was how sei's life might have changed... i think his grandfather wouldve died soon enough anyway but it does make me wonder how his rship w doman looks if his betrayal never happens

i dont like to think too hard about new world irt my faves bc while it fixes their lives in a sense im not sure its what they wouldve wanted.. so much of sei's character is built around how doman's betrayal changed him it barely feels right to say hes the same char

i joked that if the new world is what the char wants it to look like then maybe dousei just committed double suicide together in the halidom bc no one interrupted them yay happy(???) ending
