About The Artist:

Douglas Walker was born in Pekin, IL in 1982. After graduating with a BFA in 2005 with an emphasis in scultpure and ceramics, playing music brought him out to southern California. Finally, after 3D art had taken a backseat to playing in bands for years, Walker started working at art galleries and installing for art handling companies, presenting the opportunity, energy, and inspiration to create a body of work.

Stepping beyond the mediums he was familiar with in school, Walker now finds the aesthetics of found objects, rusted metal, and weathered wood particularly appealing. He also constructs collages, which is a technique that often makes its way into his sculptures as well.

2011 will see this culmination of this work come together in his first solo show in Los Angeles, titled "Curiosity and Questioning".
