Fantastic day visiting the tiny Bruton Museum in Somerset with the Foundation and Extended Diploma art students to see the work of artist Dorcas Casey (*Ex Strode college) Dorcas talked to us all about her practice and we explored the museum and looked at her wonderful response to the objects in the collection. ‘Crocodile’ 

We all then returned to Strode and Dorcas ran an afternoon workshop with the students looking at soft sculpture techniques, stitching, sock stuffing and use of wire and polymorph. An inspiring day generating lots of ideas for new work.

Although the show runs alongside SAW< Somerset Art Works - The exhibition is part of MUSE: Makers in Museums and runs until 28th October, before all artists from 8 different museums, come together for a group show at the Museum of Somerset in Taunton. Catch it if you can.
