“It doesn’t have to be, Doe.  Come with me.”  Matthew said, taking her hand in his and giving it a squeeze.  He had an excited smile on his face at the possibility of Dorcas Meadowes coming with him on his travels.  He stepped closer to her.  “We’ll go to Tibet and see the yetis.  We’ll fly on the backs of Abraxans in France.  We can discover progrebins in Russia and Nogtails in America.  Let me show you the world, Dorcas.  Come with me.”  

James has always gotten on pretty well with Doe. He’s not as close to her as he is Marlene, or even Mary on some level, but he likes her. He thinks she’s a sweet girl, and he can tell something’s been bothering her. He just doesn’t know how to approach it.
