“i don’t know either. it’s...a lot to take in.”
the chasm was still dark around them, the only lights present being the three adjuvants of the combined group ( coryn’s, alex’s, and lumine’s ), resulting in their latest camp being brightly lit in the midst of the near-black surroundings. there was barely a sound; for a moment, he almost thought someone would wake up from the pair’s conversation.
dainsleif had left shortly after halfdan’s soul was freed, giving a warning to lumine. meanwhile, he hadn’t spared coryn a glance. he was thankful for that in hindsight, if only because he wouldn’t have been sure how to take such a thing. dain hadn’t exactly seemed very pleased to see him in the first place, what with the whole “corynacht reborn” business.
but corynacht was the last thing on his mind at the moment.
“khaenri’ah being cursed to have all those people be immortal...and its people turning into hilichurls and abyss mages and whatnot...fuck, that’s terrifying. like, that’s worse than death, alive eternally and unwillingly, and CURSED on top of all that...”
dark brown eyes stared out in the darkness for a few moments, before he glanced back over at kaeya. it felt like he was learning more about this world in tandem with learning more about kaeya, but at the same time, his heart ached for the other man. a hand reached over to take one of his hands, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"i...don’t know what else to say, other than...besides the basic facts, it really doesn’t change how i see you, kaeya. if finding out more about corynacht means finding out more answers about khaenri’ah, then i’d want nothing more than to do it beside you.”
