I think Chief would be helpful in quelling that constant hatred in Doom's head.

The battle rages around him, another landscape destroyed beyond recognition spattered with the blood and gore of demons bent on destroying a dying world. His work is never done yet he persists, venturing out over and over. Vision narrowing to whatever enemy falls in front of him, he allows the deep simmering rage to flare and rear its ugly head as he loses himself in the onslaught.

The Slayer is clearing out yet another UAC building when an armor-clad figure falls through a glowing portal that he knows Vega didn't summon.

Whoever they are, they're quick as a whip and roll out of the way of a Hell Knight bearing down on them. It roars as its first attack misses and the new enemy levels a rifle at its howling maw. A staccato spray of bullets shreds the monster's flesh and it howls in a blind fury, winding up to bring a fist down onto the new soldier on the battlefield.

The Doom Slayer blasts a gaggle of imps into a cloud of viscera and sprints towards his potential ally, too slow to intervene in time. He watches as the hellspawn brings its bloody arm down onto the soldier, their arms raised as if to block the blow.

To his and the Hell Knight's surprise, they do stop the swing. Green armor lighting up gold around the impact as they grab and twist the limb with a sickening crack, shifting their stance and the monster's weight into a throw that downs the beast with a howl. Before it can react and move, a grenade is thrust into the creature's mouth and the soldier sprints with an inhuman speed to cover from the explosion.
