Today, at the midpoint of my remaining playtime, my level of done-itude with that game has never been higher. I have no motivation to log in. Not to my characters on Begeren Colony or Harbinger with whom I solo quest, and certainly not to my characters on Ebon Hawk--the characters I play with other people.

Partially it's because I've been intentionally resisting the urge to log on. Another part is, well, why? The game stopped being fun for me when I realized that endgame was just an endless treadmill of MOAR GEAR and MOAR SKILL and the effort I was putting into MOAR GEAR and MOAR SKILL wasn't worth the rewards anymore.

Besides, SWTOR has taken up so much of my gaming life since it came out, I've missed out on other worlds to explore. A very eloquent friend of mine said it best: MMOs rob me of a variety of experience--it's the same thing every time. In my case I want to re-explore some old worlds (DA, ME, LoL) and delve into unfamiliar ones (KoA, Torchlight). Plus in terms of writing, there's my own world that's been awfully neglected.

The SWTOR characters themselves are fine. For me they're more than just avatars with skills and class mechanics--they're, well, characters. (There was that one thing where I shelved Chrysos but moving him to <Bane> saved him from the trash heap.) But actually going into the game throws mechanics and blagh into the equation and nope. Back on the topic of my own world, I've even started conceptualizing some translations of some SWTOR characters into that setting.
