#Story: I have come a long way, baby. Words cannot describe the gratitude that I feel in my heart, even for the most minute victories—and they didn’t have to be mine. These past seven months have probably been the most arduous months of my life, but I have truly gained a lot. My sons have seen me emerge from some challenges over the course of their lives, but nothing quite like this. Terence said, “Mom, you look so much better.” My dearest and closest friends who have watched me go through this transition have expressed the joy in their hearts for the joy that’s in mine. Yet, it wasn’t until a test rocked my soul and another one tested my patience did I realize how strong I have become. And even more, how much joy that is in mine. We all hate trials. We dread for our patience to be tested. We cannot stand for our names to be dragged through the mud or for our spirits to be crushed. We hate it. What we have to always remember is that the person or people who bring us down does not bear a reflection of our character. It’s a truth of who they are. If we are refused to be received, we are to just shake the dust off our feet and we move forward in all humility. Why?
