Thanks @dontcrywrite for the tag! Good news and bad-news-turned-into-good-news. I could only find two of the words in the document of what I've posted. But for the other two, I'm digging into the original chat document I downloaded from messenger! So you'll get some (mostly) raw RP chat story! What fun!
I forgot to tag people so here! Also first off open tag! Words are buzz, strict, frill, locate (then bonus word for fun if you have it pedantic cuz why not!) @drippingmoon @sleepy-night-child @avaeverstone (I hope it's ok I'm branching out a little to people I haven't really interacted with! Hello! Please let me know if you don't like being tagged in things! I promise I am friendly if you'd like to chat <3)
Cheer (from offical wip document)
Sadie couldnât see what exactly he was pointing at so she hopped off her stool and walked up to the table not even needing to bend over as she walked up to the table. Underneath was a frightened-looking wood elf with leaves in her hair and clothes made from plant fibers. She was clutching a dirty ripped copy of the same letter the rest of them had. After a cheerful introduction from Sadie, the elf girl spoke barely above a whisper to introduce herself as Kâlaiâaâla, one of the last forest elves from the depths of the Wraefen.
Shimmer (from official wip document)
But these corpses had been dead long before the fire as they were mostly bone now. Between them sat a pile of coins and a layer of dust could not hide the deep shimmering green of an emerald the size of a babyâs head. That is what they were looking for but she did not want to put Sadieâs body down to pick it up.
Lie (straight from the RP archives! With only mild editing. A conversation between Sadie and another person)
[redacted] asks, "does it frighten you that I've ended thousands of lives?''
[Sadie] takes a moment before she answers. "I won't lie to you and say that I am not at least a little scared but I think what frightens me more than how many people you killed is the probability that many of them were fairly innocent people." She says quietly.
He meets her gaze with an intensity, but answers calmly. "Yes. But that goose [you ate for dinner] never wronged you either."
She narrows her eyes but keeps a fairly neutral tone. "Yes but that is different. A goose does not have the ability to speak, have desires... Or love. But I am not one to judge. I have been... Less than a shining example of morality this past month." She finishes quietly.
"But you are wrong, my love. Animals do have the capacity to reason. And to communicate. And to love. Pigeons mate for life. Ravens have been known to perform funerals."
She furrows her brow in concern and looks like she doesn't know how to respond to that.
Box (RP archive: through the effects of a waterbreathing spell, Sadie is having fun exploring the bottom of a lake with [redacted] and a servant)
She finds a decent amount of humanoid bones. There's rotting/rusting weapons and armor, but valuables seem to have been looted. She does find some interesting trinkets, however.
When she finds things she looks up at [redacted] excitedly and holds as many of them as she can. If she can't carry them all, she hands some to [servant] to hold onto.
She finds a glass ring, a bone pendant, a rusted iron pendant, a tarnished copper bell, a wooden holy symbol, and a wooden box with a rusted lock
She puts the pendants around her neck, the ring on her finger, and holds onto the other items in her hands and under her arms. When she can't carry any more, she looks at [redacted] and [servant] with a huge grin, bedecked in odd trinkets.
[servant] tilts her head, a little confused, but is smiling.
[redacted] is just grinning at her

hi nikky!!! i hope you're doing well!! :)) day 9 question: The way you described the magic in the world of Soulwood was so interesting. I love the idea that it's raw energy rather than something thatâs wielded by people. What inspired you to write a magic system like this? - dontcrywrite
Hi! I hope youâre doing well too.
Well, Soulwood started from a prompt that is about someone whose soul is tied to a forest, so that part of wasnât just me. I do most of my writing off the cuff, so there wasnât a moment where I planned it, just. Itâs what made the most sense and I loved it because most magic systems are usually about people who have magic and this world doesnât have that. Keithia is magical, but aside from her lifespan and tie to the forest, sheâs human. Magic made her and the mark that left didnât make her remarkable or powerful or something to fear.
Once the idea started, I loved the idea of magic not being all that powerful, really. About it being a piece of nature, almost. Itâs as much part of the world as the trees and lakes and the sky. Itâs more primal, akin almost to the chaos/magic that started everything, that made the world and life. Itâs a weaker version of that, probably, is what remains of it, regardless of if magic was supposed to survive that flash of power or not. I just liked the idea of doing something different, itâs fun and itâs made the worldbuilding a bit more fun, too. So I wasnât really inspired, per say, it just started to happen and I liked it, so I rolled with it.
hi lizzy!! hope you're doing good :)) day 9 question: I absolutely LOVE your characters names, especially the caretakers (Dewdrop my beloved <3). How did you decide on these names? Did you have any trouble coming up with them? - dontcrywrite
Hi Kat!! Iâm doing well, hope youâre also having a good day! Thanks so much for your question!
It makes me very happy you like the character names so much. If I recall correctly the caretaker character names were the first thing I worked on even before I had a basic premise for the story. Violet was gonna be my main character, so her name came first. Echo, Fifi, Plume and Helia soon followed. I mostly wanted names that arenât common, or arenât even considered names like Echo and Plume.
When the concept of caretakers turned more into a nature-aesthetic. With the youngest caretakers being called âsaplingsâ and the oldest are âdeeply-rootedâ, the in-between being called âfull-bloomâ and âseasonedâ, I decided to go all in on the outlandish almost silly fantasy names and took inspiration from fantasynamegeneratorâs fairy names (mostly the last names) and thatâs why we now have names like Dewdrop, Saltstone, Frostbite, Stormcloud and Sunflare
(Fun fact: I had trouble deciding between Dewdrop or Snowdrop. And with Sunflare, I always knew itâd be Sun-something but I wasnât sure which word to put there for a while)
hi nikky!! i dont have any pets of my own, but i've recently been cat sitting for my neighbor, and i come bearing pictures!! her name is cora and she's so sweet!! she's about one (a baby <3) and her favorite toy is a small stuffed banana, it's amazing lol
-dontcrywrite
Hi! Pets of friends/family/whatever is also fine.
Sheâs so pretty!! And the banana sounds adorable. Eliâs favorite toy now is his dragon but when he was puppy, it was a blue raccoon. Though heâll go through stints of being obsessed with another toy for a bit :D
'last' and 'the beginning' for maidens and monsters? :) - dontcrywrite
Hay Kat! Thanks for the ask :) Iâm not 100% sure if you meant âbefore the beginningâ or âfirstâ so I did both.
LAST - the most recently written lines from my wip
âItâs beautiful,â she gasps in a whisper, her eyes shining wet when she looks at Calypso, like polished obsidian dripping honey.
It cracks Calypsoâs split attention and hones it on Scyllaâs shattering gratitude.
The nymphâs fingers are braced wide against her temple, her brows angled and pinched in quivering emotional overflow. Calypso can near taste the sea pressing it into her skin.
FIRSTÂ â the first two sentences of my current project
It is rare for one to catch Calypsoâs attention for more than a fleeting moment. She does not much care for things that do not impact her.
BEFORE THE BEGINNING - three sentences (or more) about something that happened before the plot of my current project
Calypso does not care for nymphs, really, on a personal level. Itâs not something she can afford â there are dozens from Oceanusâ blood alone and they tend to gather together. If she befriends one, sheâll be urged to befriend twenty more and sheâs no interest in that. There are few who tolerate the infrequency and sporadicy of her visits and nymphs are not among them.
The whim never strikes, or rears back in thought of doing so.
She still listens to stories, however. Puts names to domains and temperaments. She loves them still, even if sheâs not met the majority.
So when the ocean pushes a name into her collarbones â Scylla, a new nymph who prefers solitude and is a glittering lure for mortals⌠well.
Itâs about time, perhaps, that she attempted to make a friend of a nymph.

hi!!! i hope you're having a great day!! :))) here's an underwing question: Are there any specific traits that you tend to use when creating characters? How about traits you avoid?
Hello! My day has been a day lol. Just hectic but I'm getting through it! Seeing asks always brightens my day <3
Now to the question! Tis a great one! I am very partial to what I call my "emo" characters. I've made so many broody rogues in my lifetime and honestly I adore all of them. There's something about traumatizing a character pre-story then having them work through it during the story and eventually find their well-deserved happy ever after. I can absolutely say I went all-out with this trope with miss Vyxen from my shadowrun RP. She's the moodiest emo rogue vampire ever and it's amazing. What's even better about her is she got married and it was the cutest thing she was both happy and uncomfortable at the same time! Her husband is also quite emo so they work well together but he's also very suave. (I'd like to also mention I use the term emo very loosely, just so no one jumps down my throat).
As for traits I avoid... Well ironically enough, I actually tend to avoid making my emo characters when I'm making a new tabletop friend. Those sorts of moody loners don't make well for working with a group of people so it's hard to play with a group of RPGers. Other than that I really can't think of a specific trait I avoid. I've liked playing the disorganized nut that's always late (Nova), the always on top of things and emotionally repressed (Vyxen), and also the emotionally volatile (Sadie).
I think I do kind of avoid giving them very personal traits that are recognizable to me. For example most of my characters are not afraid of spiders like I am. Most of my characters enjoy eating fish while I don't. Some of my characters enjoy recreational drugs, I do not (besides the occasional alcoholic beverage). So I like to give them base traits that are distinctive from my base traits. But otherwise I love exploring all aspects of characterization!
hello writer friend!! <3 here's an underwing ask! Whatâs your favorite part about writing? Do you focus more on themes and tropes, or are character relationships and arcs more your thing??
Ooo dang good question. Well when I'm writing Sadie, my favorite part about writing is definitely the character interactions. Or at least trying to get across what the characters think of each other. Due to the nature of my one and only wip, I'm not focused on full story themes or tropes since I'm kind of just telling what happened in the story. However! I do enjoy paying attention to how I'm going to craft certain sections of the story.
For example I had a really fun time with my DM rehashing what happens in this second chapter of Sadie's story that we are getting into as of the most recent post. It's fun to imagine how I want to organize the posts so it's most digestible for the reader.
Other than my obsession with organization, I think I most enjoy setting up what's going to happen. Leaving the breadcrumbs that hopefully will be swept up later in the reveal. It's exciting imagining how people will react to certain things as I write them!
hello hello!! i hope you're day is going well!! :))) here's an underwing question for you! how much do you research for your wips (if you research)? do you like researching things? what's your favorite thing that you've researched for a wip?
Hello! My day has been quite nice thank you! This is a really great question but I may not have a really great answer. I haven't written an original story since I was in elementary school and wrote about the time my dogs scared santa lol. Anything I've written has been "co-written" with other people who are running the RPGs that I played in.
But I think I do have an answer for you and it might be a slightly weird one. I think the most fun I had was helping my DM figure out how Sadie's pregnancies were progressing. We had to do some legitimate research about real life stuff (which I love anything involving the human body so I thought that was great) and we also had to brainstorm some fantasy things that I don't quite want to spoil yet.
I don't have children and don't have a strong desire to have any but I was able to explore it with Sadie which is kind of what writing your own world and characters is all about right? :)
But lemme give you more cuz I feel like that was a lame answer!
So my favorite thing that SADIE has had to research has been how to achieve immortality. And no, it's not for her but I won't say who yet! There is this place we will get to in the story, later down the road, called the Pansophical Library that is rumored to have all of the knowledge in the multiverse. The adventure there was super fun (mind flayers!) and at the end, they were allowed access to the library. Sadie used this time to research different possibilities for [REDACTED]'s immortality. Some of the options so far have included gaining a god spark aka killing a god and stealing their immortality, eating a golden apple from the garden of the gods, or becoming a lich and losing their body in the process. There's benefits and drawbacks to all of those things and maybe they settled on one or maybe they didn't, that is yet to be revealed!
