Teshuvah 2022 Day 8: “Do not be conformed to this world” We desire things or everything in this world even there might be “some impossibilities”, or even unforeseen repercussions that might happen to us if we do. From the past few months ago, I’ve desired to get a car that would cost $50,000 and up, even my credit score is below the requirement and there are outstanding debts to be paid. But, I’ve realized that getting the costly things is not even necessary, and I cannot use it for long because I’m just going to acquire it to satisfy my ego rather than necessity. Lately, in my new workplace, there are some new co-workers, and desiring to be “fitted in” to their peer, but I have a doubts that I might not know them at all. I found out that some of them having a worldly lifestyle that my conviction said that I’m not going to have a fellowship with them. In that verse, Paul said that we need to renew our minds and our mindset that would please God and know His will, and do not imitiate or conform to this world. For us believers, our domicile is not in this world, but in heaven that where God resides! If those people around us seems to staying away from us for our lifestyle was changed and different from theirs, don’t worry, the Lord told us that we’re not from here but we’re staying here as sojourners in order for us to do His will until He comes back again. The days are getting faster and shorter, as well as our lives here on earth, are we living to please God and let His will be done, or living as the ones here in this world does?
