31 for 31 2021 Day 18 Movie: Critters 4(1992) I went into this movie with a bad attitude. Critters 3 wasn’t my favorite, and frankly I was starting to tire of the Crites and Charlie McFadden Space Rube. Then the opening credits began and I was stoked to see Brad Dourif’s name flash upon the screen. Somehow I missed Angela Bassett’s name and was pleasantly surprised by the casting choice. Unfortunately the story wasn’t as good as the casting director, and my mind began to wander around the beautiful white sandy beaches where Stella rediscovered her Groove, then it added an army of Crites. Taye Diggs got it the worst😬. The end credits roll, and I realize that I imagined the whole thing. 31 for 31 2021 Day 17 Movie: Critters 3 Critters 3 was really disappointing for me. They took all the 80’s violence and campiness from the first two movies and nineties-ified it. They dumbed down the kills and amped up the cheesy fart jokes. A young Leonardo DiCaprio is in it and plays the stepson of a slum lord who is trying to evict the tenants of the shitty building he owns. Also, young Leo looks like this “Eddie Haskell” type kid I know. So he’s got that working against him….also Titanic, fuck Titanic!…sorry I have Post Titanic Stress Disorder 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. The only thing this movie has going for it is that it follows Charlie McFadden the town drunk from the first movie. Then after some time off world, suddenly he’s a reformed intergalactic bounty Hunter.
