#donameche moría el 6 de diciembre de 1993. Dominic Felix Ameche, más conocido como Don Ameche, fue un actor y director de cine estadounidense ganador del Premio Óscar. Sus padres fueron Felix Ameche, un inmigrante italiano cuyo apellido original era "Amici", y Barbara, que era de ascendencia irlandesa y alemana. Ameche comenzó su carrera con el vodevil junto a Texas Dinan, aunque posteriormente dejaron de trabajar juntos ya que Guinan consideraba a Ameche demasiado estirado. Debutó en el cine en 1935 y, a finales de la década, se había convertido en uno de los principales actores de Hollywood. Interpretó con éxito películas como Alexander's Ragtime Band (1938), en Heaven Can Wait (El diablo dijo ¡no!) (1943), junto a Gene tierney, y en The Story of Alexander Graham Bell (1939), interpretando a Alexander Graham Bell, Curiosamente, su interpretación del inventor del teléfono popularizó el latiguillo "ameche" como sinónimo de teléfono. Ameche fue una estrella de la radio. Tras su intervención en el show de Edgar Bergen y Charlie Mcarthy, consiguió un gran éxito a finales de los años cuarenta junto a Frances Langford en The Bickersons. Ameche disfrutó de una sustancial carrera en Broadway con papeles en Silk Stockings, Goldilocks, Holiday for Lovers, Henry, Sweet Henry, y Our Town. Entre 1961 y 1965, Ameche trabajó en el programa de la NBC International Showtime.
