I know probably no one’s going to see this but I’ll try anyway. 

I’m Laura and I’m from Colombia. My mom has been a kindergarten teacher for over 24 years, she has never stopped teaching and has been working at the same place since 1996. This month life surprised us since she lost her job. Due to the pandemic a lot of schools aren’t hiring teachers because there’s not enough money and kids to teach. Most parents are afraid to take their kids to school so the rather wait till everything goes back to normal. The saddest thing is that my mom is the oldest teacher and she was only a few years away from retiring and getting her workplace pension. Right now is extremely hard to get a job in my city and we don’t know what to do. For now we are using the money we saved for my graduation to buy food and pay the bills. But we don’t know what the future holds for us,  our money is almost gone and we’re so scared. I’ve been so anxious lately I really don’t know what to do.
