The Hollywood Reporter x BOTERO
The Hollywood Reporter review critically acclaimed documentary BOTERO, an intimate look at the life and art of one of the world’s most popular living artists, Fernando Botero. Directed by Don Millar, who enjoyed unprecedented access to Botero and his family throughout 19 months of production, the documentary has screened at over a dozen international film festivals worldwide. BOTERO follows an unknown, self-taught painter born in provincial Medellin in 1932 as he propels himself to the pinnacle of the art world. The audience learns that, even today, the 86-year-old is happiest in his Monaco studio where he says he is still learning as he strives to be the best painter in the world, because “my life is to paint.”
