The most notable thing is probably that she's a bit of a metalhead, which is something that (for most people) doesn't really fit to her shy and gentle personality.

What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?
Ufff hard to say.
Dolores didn't really have as much room to develop as she deserved yet. I've been kinda neglecting procrastinating her development a bit until she makes a proper appearance in Volatile.
When I initially created her however she started out as a replacement for an OC I scrapped a long long time ago. That OC was sort of a very plain love interest for Mel when I first started playing around in sims.
Since then Dolores devolved into more of a side Character, but at the same time she also became way more complex I'd say. She's also no longer a love interest for Mel (although she had a bit of a crush on him as a kid)
That plot turned more into an introspection of her need for affection/approval in order to feel whole.

Do you have a specific lyric or quote which you associate with your OC?
Dolores always makes me think of Creep by Radiohead (this cover version by Daniela Andrade in particular)
I would pick out a specific line but honestly the whole song perfectly describes how Dolores perceives herself in comparison to the people around her in my opinion.

If you met your OC, would the two of you get along?
Most definitely. Dolores reminds me quite a bit of how I used to be as a teenager, I have a lot of sympathy for her.
And she's just a super sweet and kind person and very easy to get along with, if you don't mind her insecurities and her being a bit of a hermit, so I wouldn't see how we could not get along.

How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?
She just wants to be liked and cared about, plain and simple. To her people showing any sort of aversion towards her is pretty unbearable so she tends to be a bit of a people pleaser, but yeah, she mostly just wants people to perceive her favorably.

What is the worst thing you have put your OC through story-wise
So many things honestly...but mostly her school time. She was a victim of bullying throughout most of it and never really had any friends, aside from Mel for a short time in elementary school, who dropped the friendship once they went to different schools leaving her completely alone.
Another thing would be her generally being emotionally neglected by most people in her life and never getting the appreciation and affection from people that she deserved as a child.
Also having the two of people she ever really had feelings for fall in love with each other. But that one hasn't happened yet in the story so I'm not sure if it counts ^^"

What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions?
I never really thought about that to be honest.
To be fair, the way her life turned out up to this point wasn't really down to her or her decisions, quite the contrary I think.
But...i think if her life circumstances could've been better, if her mother never got ill (which was the main reason she spent a couple of years in a children's home on and off) and she could have grown up in an environment with a better support system, it would have allowed her to become a more self assured and possibly happy version of herself, but she also wouldn't have any connections to my other characters, hence she wouldn't be part of the story.
Apart from that I don't really see many ways in which her life could've been that different.

E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?
I'd like to think we'd get along well, I but honestly...I'm not sure. I feel like we'd be a bit like two magnets with the same pole.
Besides Mel has the tendency to look for more dominant and confident people than him that can get him to come out of his shell. I think that's a contrast he needs to actually warm up to someone.
2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?
It depends. Generally Mel isn't really the type to laugh per se. He's more the type to snort or give a light chuckle when something amuses him. Him actually laughing out loud is something that is difficult for him and that happens quite rarely.
10. What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?
Mel doesn't really lie if he can avoid it, apart from the occasional white lie. He's more prone to just withhold things.
Most frequently that was the case shortly before he ran away from the residental home he lived in with Serena and Roy, he didn't tell anyone about how he was struggling mentally at the time, mainly because he was confused about it and feared judgement, until he couldn't conceal the severity of his mental state anymore which caused pretty strong tensions between him and Roy (sorry for keeping it so vague, but that'll have to do for now)
That does haunt him quite a bit, in fact he knows had he been more open and seeked proper help during that time a lot of things in his life would have turned for the better.
31. Who are they the most glad to have met?
Serena, definitely. A few years ago he would have said her and Roy but at this point he deeply regrets meeting him, also for Roy's sake.

If the confusion directly affects him, he will seek clarification first and foremost. However he would do so while basically belittling who or whatever confused him.

Oooff, I don't think so. He's more...how do I put this...incredibly uncooperative when it comes to doing tasks he himself deems unnecessary or doesn't want to do.
He's the kinda guy that would clean the entire fucking flat if he's bored enough, and he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty to achieve his goals...in contrast however if somebody *coughs*Serena*coughs* would ask him to get up and get the remote from a meter away he probably couldn't be arsed....you get the picture...

Simon is not the type to embarass easily, quite the contrary. Even Uli can't get him to embarass and god knows he tried. I like to think so at least xD
I think the one thing that can embarass him or make him uncomfortable is starting drama or conflict over him, which has happened in the past.
23. How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)?
Nothing like that. He used to be quite envious and bitter when he was younger, which mainly stemmed from a deep dissatisfaction with himself. Every now and then it still shines through. But he's found a good way to deal with it is just trying his best to be happy for the person, and expressing that. It somehow makes the feeling of envy almost nonexistent for him.

Roy thinks laws are made for a good reason, and he doesn't really doubt the justice system. I dare to say if you chose a career path with the police that's probably a given, at least to some.
However I think one reason for that is that he's had the privilege so far of being spared from experiencing what it's like if the justice system fails you.
12. How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?
He'd probably try to ignore it at first and if push comes to shove (and if no ones looking) use a pen or ruler or something similar to help him out

Dolores is very passive when it comes to romantic interactions of any kind . Part of her is still caught up in this delusion that her Prince Charming will show up to woo her one day. The other part thinks she isn't good enough for anyone anyway so she wouldn't even dare to make advances with anyone. So yeah, she's kinda waiting for it to fall into her lap, but even if that were to happen chances are she wouldn't realize.

B What inspired you to create them?
Honestly...I'm not entirely sure. Roland is one of these characters that sorta created himself and I just kinda rolled with it...get it? Rolled...?

The initial reason for his creation was that I felt like Mel was lacking a "parental figure" of sorts. And to be quite honest I felt like I was lacking a parental figure in the story as well to express certain things I wanted to express.
20. If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?
He'd probably need a lot of of time to think of a good answer. In fact I doubt that he would really come up with something apart from "You're asking the wrong person mate" and a shrug.
The way he sees it...I doubt he would say it like that though.. is that familial love is unconditional or at least should be whereas platonic love is not...and romantic love is just platonic love + attraction and sex.

G What trait of theirs bothers you the most?
She can be very dominating at times. To a degree where its almost overwhelming to other people, without her really being aware of it. Especially with Mel, although it's not always noticeable since he's not very vocal about his needs but Serena has the tendency to just decide for him or put him in situations that she thinks are good for him (she tried to hook him up with multiple people from their school without him really giving his okay for example) while he himself is either lowkey uncomfortable with it or just goes along with it because it's the path of least resistance.
I dare to say Serena has improved a lot in that regard since she was a teenager and especially right now, after meeting Mel again for the first time in ages, she wouldn't pull those stunts but it's still an unhealthy tendency on her end, even if she means well.
13. What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?
Serena doesn't really have a colour that suits her the most in her book, however she thinks she looks horrible in yellow...and red (although she really likes red)
I personally think she looks good in any colour, I particularly like her in white though.
38. What memory do they revisit the most often?
Her residential home used to do yearly trips to the North Sea. She wouldnt be able to cherry pick a specific memory but she often thinks back to these trips because they were probably the happiest times of her life.

Surprisingly she isn't that obvious when it comes to showing affection.
With her it's the little things, things other people might not always notice sadly.
Getting a person a little gift they randomly mentioned they like, cooking them their favourite meal, listening carefully to them talking about their passions even if it might not be something she's interested in, stepping out of her comfort zone or combating her depression and anxiety to be there for a person.
These things can take a lot of energy from her but they're her way of showing that she cares.
BOUQUET. does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?
She does, she also tried to have some in her flat some time ago but she wasn't able to keep them alive for long.
Her favourites are probably Roses and black tulips.
CHOCOLATE. does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?
She doesn't like chocolate just like that. But she enjoys chocolate with strawberry or any other fruit filling. Apart from orange chocolate, which she hates.
DATE. what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?
Ideal would be a date with somebody she trusts and knows well. Preferably at her place because she doesn't have to leave her comfort zone. Having a movie marathon and a nice dinner, something like that would be great for her.

Yes, hugs are incredibly comforting for her, but only from people she knows well...and her cats if that counts. Although she'd endure getting hugged by someone she's not well acquainted with too.
She hugs, not with a lot of strength but still quite tightly.
FLIRT. is your muse good at flirting? how do they flirt?
She's way too shy to properly flirt with anyone.
She would be the passive part in any flirtatious scenario
She'd blush and laugh nervously at funny remarks, hardly get a word out, get overwhelmed very quickly and probably try to find some excuse to get out of the situation.
And later she'd hate herself for that.
GIFT. is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?
She enjoys gifting things to people. And she's very meticulous when it comes to choosing a gift and presenting it in a nice way. Although she puts herself under way too much pressure when it comes to that.
HEART. is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?
Way too friggin quick. She can talk to a guy she likes for 10 minutes and part of her brain is already making up romantic scenarios with that person. Okay...not quite. But she's definitely a bit to quick to get attached to people, whether she wants it or not.
I LOVE YOU. does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?
A quick "love you " towards her parents is no issue for her.
Anything else...well, let's just say she wants her first time confessing love to someone to be something special and she wants to be certain.
And her fear of ruining things with a person by admitting her love, her general insecurities and wanting to wait for the right moment might make saying it quite hard for her in the end.
JEALOUSY. does your muse get jealous in a relationship?
I'd say she would be quite the jealous type in a relationship thanks to her low self esteem. Not in a toxic way but she would get sad and insecure easily.

She has like no experience in that field so...probably not?
I think she'd be completely fine at standard kissing but way to timid/passive with anything involving tongue.

Her parents, her cats...that's about it. Simon too maybe but she's unsure whether she can call that love.

Speaking hypothetical here, she'd be, again, very timid and submissive. Probably too passive and incapable of coming out of her shell.
To be honest I don't think she would enjoy sex that much and it would show.
She has this very romanticised view on sex and I don't think reality could keep up with that.

She's pretty articulate, but she has trouble properly expressing her thoughts sometimes.

You know these good looking, broody, dark™ love interests in teenage novels that are kind of an asshole to anyone but the female protagonist? That and pretty much any guy that shows some decency towards her... Those are her types.
Sadly she doesn't always realise how problematic that can be. And that the former can be incredibly harmful irl, for someone with as little self esteem as her.

She'd like the guy to take the first step. She's quite old school when it comes to love and romance.

She is a sucker for romance. And she has a pretty romantic mindset in general.

Yeah, Mel. They were quite close in primary school.
Mel was basically her only friend during that time and she had a huge crush on him...she also had her first kiss with him (the infamous kiss on the cheek)

Her opinion on that fluctuates quite a bit. She'd like to believe that true love exists but she has strong doubts sometimes.

Not actively, since she's never been in a proper relationship.
The fact that Mel broke contact after they went to different grammar schools could be considered her first heartbreak, after that it was mainly crushes that didn't acknowledge her existence and ended up with different people.
VALENTINE. how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?
She doesn't really like it, but she doesn't hate it either.
I think she'd like it much more if it didn't remind her of how alone she is.
WEDDING. would your muse get married? why / why not?
She would like to get married at some point. For her marriage is the ultimate sign of devotion between two people.
She of course knows that it's no guarantee that it might last, but in her book it still makes the relationship more meaningful.
And she wants to wear one of them fancy dresses.

Hm...yes and no. She's protective of the people she loves, but she doesn't act on that or show it really.

One thing she'd take with her no matter what is her skills bag.
Basically a little cosmetic bag filled with things that help her calm down or distract herself when she’s anxious or generally not feeling well like...essential oils, a little plushy key chain, a pack of strawberry chewing gum, dextrose, and some therapy plasticine, just to name a few things.
Apart from that she never leaves the house without a water bottle, her cellphone and headphones, her purse, her planner, keys and whatever book she may be currently reading.
She's a pretty decent cook. When she still lived together with Simon they would cook together on a regular basis (that was Simon's method to get Dolores to eat more regularly) and she learnt a lot from him.
🌭 - what’s the biggest meal they had recently?
Half a pizza from Domino's and some Tiramisu for Dinner
🍙 - do they enjoy foreign food?
Definitely. She's grown to love Jamaican food (again thanks to Simon) and she also has a weakness for Italian food.

Not very well. She has a bit of a nervous stomach sometimes. She likes spicy food quite a bit though, and she eats it fairly regularly despite that.

She hardly ever eats breakfast, and there are days when she doesn't eat anything till late in the afternoon. So yeah, she tends to skip meals every now and then, but it's more due to lack of energy than anything.

I’d say the only acessories would be a cigarette in his hand at any given opportunity and his earrings, which he refuses to take out despite them getting infected all the time.

Writing Although that's debatable I guess.
Also musically he's more talented than he gives himself credit for, being able to to play two instruments by ear with little knowledge in music theory, although I'm not sure how capable he still is after not having played for years.

13. What is something that makes them uncomfortable?
Good question...I'd say what generally makes him uncomfortable is anything that undermines his dominance.
Basically whenever Mabon fronts the first thing he will do is try to take as much control as he can of whatever situation he may find himself in. If that's not possible...well let's just say it's a huge trigger for him.
Therapists and doctors are a good example for that, because he feels like he's at their mercy in both cases he gets incredibly wary and defensive, or he just completely shuts off.
Another thing that makes him uncomfortable, although he'd never admit it are women. Especially confident women. Bonus points if he's attracted to them.

2. Who do they look to for guidance?
Nobody?
Not in a "I don't trust other people" or "I don't need people's help" sorta way, but it just doesn't really occur to her that she can ask for advice or let somebody else take the lead, despite doing the same for the people around her almost without thinking.
To be fair she also didn't really have a figure in her life that would actually be capable of proper "guidance"
Okay nobody is not quite true. She does trust her therapists judgement on many things, and she has two parental figures that came into her life at a later point whose help and guidance she's not opposed to taking, and she also talks to her ex/co-worker Lucas about an lot of her issues. But like I said, most of the time it doesn't occur to her to rely on anyone but herself.

Two things: Telling jokes (it’s not like he has no sense of humor but his delivery usually falls very flat) and comforting people (he is incredibly awkward and blunt when it comes to comforting people. don’t expect more than a helpless pat on the shoulder or a “suck it up”.)

Not really. Although there's one. He has a surgical scar on his chest that marks one of the best and most important decisions he's made in his life.

Probably just staying in bed curled up in a blanket with her cats, watching netflix, or playing Nintendo switch. And at the end of the day she'd regret that she didn't do more.
Regarding Roland and Alexej...I was dreading somebody asking about them xD Just a bit of clarification, both are charatcers that play a role in the story, and they’re developed enough to deserve a spot on my character page. But it’s hard to talk about them at this point without spoiling too much. Another reason to get on with this friggin story...

maize - share the weirdest encounter you’ve had with a stranger on the street.
"The weirdest, huh...? Hard to say.
I've had my fair share of of random encounters, at some point you simply grow numb to it.
There's one that stuck with me though.
I was on my way home, and I could hear screaming coming from around the corner, my first instinct was to turn around and get the hell away but honestly I was too tired to give a shit, and there's constantly people yelling about where I live.
So I approached this....crowd of people and in the middle was a woman sobbing and screaming bloody murder. I couldn't quite make out what she was saying, one thing she would repeat over and over was "You can't take him from me, you promised. "
At some point she stopped and just stared into nothingness. Then she started screaming again like a broken record. It was...unnerving.
People were slowly starting to back away and go about their business, but I couldn't move. I just watched her. I tried to ask her if I could help, but she completely ignored me.
At some point an ambulance arrived and I left her with the medics.
*sighs* I know I should have done more, but I was young, and honestly a bit terrified.
It took a while to to get the screaming out of my head.
