Dolly updates: Miadoll, Shoushou
So it looks like Mia of Miadoll is gearing up for a summer release of her popular Yo-SD-sized Soo head, as well as a new smiling version of Soo and possibly an older brother (head? full doll?) of Soo named Koi.
I am tempted, of course, as I’ve been particularly susceptible to Yo-SD-sized dolls of late. XD; And Soo is a cutie! But I don’t think she’s quite my style... if I ever get one of the Mia’s existing sculpts, I would like it to be a Ginger - in some pictures, she looks like a baby Hewitt. <3<3 (And I like the idea of Micchi teasing Shiina endlessly about it.)
If you need a ~30cm body for a Yo-SD-sized head, Shoushou has released a new genderless one. It can kneel, sit suwarikko (spreadeagled), and do the catwalk (similar to the Pettimal body!), and is available in an array of colours matched to other doll companies such as Miadoll and Napidoll. Except for the legs, the measurements look pretty similar to your typical Yo-SD-sized doll.
The “catwalk” pose is attractive, and the feet caught my eye in some of the photos as being rather nicely done, but the hands are a tad too elegant and mature for my taste. I’m not keen on the chest piece, either - it seems curiously blocky against the shapely arms and legs. I also have issues with the back view of the elbows and of the thigh sockets. ^_^; It’s the little details... It is very affordable, though, and the range of colours may make it a popular new option for homeless heads.
(Shoushou has also designed a head for the body, which looks... very Shoushou-esque, if you’ve seen any of their other sculpts. XD;)
