He quickly turned hearing some students walk in, her crazy hair flipping as she did, and her grin widened at the two children entering. Awe! They were so cute~! She was in her senior year herself, so what better way to get real experience than through this!

Nico was nervous the second he walked in the doors of his new elementary school. Despite his inability to speak properly, he’d managed to score high enough on his placement test to go straight to fourth grade. Mom had been so proud of him... But how would he handle being around all these regular human kids? Bettas weren’t exactly schooling fish.

As he entered his new classroom, Nico felt his lips purse reflexively. So many eyes on him... The teacher looked over in mild surprise, but then introduced him and asked him to tell the class something about himself... And that was when he froze up.

How was he supposed to tell them anything? He could barely talk! Glancing around in a panic, he eventually turned back to the teacher, pointing to his mouth and shaking his head. Thankfully, he was allowed to go to his seat.
