Thought I'd share with you some of the frustration I have when asked for a pet portrait commission. Rachael Machin was the winning bidder for a pet portrait commission in a rescue auction and wanted her two dogs painting....see the first photo..... Adorable, yes? 💕💘💕I like to get a feel for any dogs I paint, I try to get over their personalities (or what I feel from your photos) but felt on this occasion that if I painted together the big personality of the wee one and the gentleness of the big one (Poppy??) might not come across. So the next two photos show the finished paintings. I exaggerated the wee ones size with a dismantled huge tennis ball on the huge decking. Poppy the American bulldog just looked so gentle to me, so a full on frontal muse in soft gentle tones. Sorry Rachael I have forgotten their names, please can you introduce?
