She remembered what it was like, being a Senator in your first term. The pressure to be heard in a room of thousands, to not only be heard but to also be taken seriously. She’d been lucky already having had made an impression even before Queen Jamillia asked her to become the new representative for Naboo. Some worked to gain notice with grace, others tried for a stronger grab, neither in truth was the wrong path, what was wrong was the means you used. When the Republic fell Senators who signed the ‘Petition of 2,000′ began to be combed through, many dragged from their offices and replaced or intimidated into silence. Others protested loudly and were quieted harshly often through Palpatine’s silent shadow. With this came new Senators some drew back no longer wishing to be noticed after joining, while others grew hungry for attention in this new farce of a Government. They saw this as the place to gain favour from the ‘Emperor’, a man who attended their meetings as if it were dinner theatre rather than a gathering of people with a say. Some days the Senate was cleared out with only a few planet representatives present attempting some of the minor work they could actually still do. While Palpatine didn’t attend these meetings that didn’t mean that he didn’t like to send in a dark reminder to lurk over their shoulders on occasion. Darth Vader. He was there just sporadically enough that no meeting could be planned with the intention of plotting against their ‘Ruler’ under the guise of work. 

Padmé had become a master at ignoring his presence even if at times his eyes tended to linger on her, she wished she could say that she’d mastered this skill due to Vader and not due to the days long before when she was still secretly married to a Jedi Knight. However it was much harder to ignore his presence when she began hearing the sound of choking coming from her fellow Senator who’d just attempted to undermine her with a cheap shot in the middle of negotiations. A ladder climber new to the Senate who clearly was vying for the favour of the Emperor and apparently unaware of the open secret that floated through the Galactic government. That at one point Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, now known as Lord Vader had been her lover and was the rumoured Father of her children. Her eyes turned to steel as the Senator threw the almighty Sith Lord a heated glare wrapped around a look of disgust. “I suggest a recess to reconvene tomorrow afternoon. I’m sure we can book off a small area where every Senator can continue transit negotiations.” Padmé snapped in his direction doing little to disguise the expectation for Senator Je’vina to remain alive. 

“ ... I meant to do that. “ She’s gesturing at the destroyed tree. She was aiming at the training drone but her mind had been elsewhere when she threw her saber, so the weapon had sliced through the nearby tree instead.

Behind her, Artoo whirs, obviously calling her out. “ Okay, I don’t need your judgement, Artoo! “ Blake huffs out, lips pursed into a pout. The droid makes a small noise, like he’s laughing at her. “ I got distracted, shut up. “ Her eyes wander away from the droid to the nearby force ghost. “ Was he always like this? “

         yoda. luke had told her about him, but she hadn’t expected him to show up. and he’d actually laughed as he told her that she being sent on a test. whatever that meant. luke told her that to become a jedi, one had to pass a trial. maybe that’s what this was. but when she woke up, she had no idea where she was. well, she did, but coruscant didn’t look the same as she remembered. it almost looked newer, and that gave her an idea. the jedi temple, it was still in tact. which meant that, somehow, yoda had sent her into the past! and if she was in the past, the obi-wan kenobi might be there, might be able to help. catching a speeder to the temple hadn’t been hard, but the only person she saw when entering what a man in dark robes. he looked like he was waiting for someone. 

               ‘ excuse me, i was wondering if you might be able to help me. i’m looking for obi-wan kenobi. ‘

“Really? You?” The boy’s cheeks flushed ever so slightly. He hadn’t meant to sound so abrupt or surprised. Especially not around someone as well respected as Anakin Skywalker. He raised a hand to rub the back of his neck. “I’m sorry. It’s just...you’re practically a legend. I find it hard to believe there’s anything you couldn’t handle.”

Madison knew she was a little out of control,  she’s  royalty  after all.  in the words of her mother  ‘ act like it ‘  but that’s easier said than done.  she hated being kept in what felt like a cage,  never a part of the  action  just because she can’t be trusted.  so of course as she got older she got into a habit of sneaking out,  finding parties she should never be allowed to and of course started getting in all kinds of trouble.  more recently,  her almost being  KIDNAPPED  for ransom.

after that of course she was under complete lock down,  even told she was getting a sort of  babysitter  to watch her,  though she was  assured  it wasn’t like that.  he would just be making sure no one came after her again.  though Madison knew he’d only be around to keep in locked up in this  place.  as the blonde sits,  a few other woman around her placing flowers into her hair and make sure her dress sat perfectly on her body a sigh will come from her lips as she suddenly stands.  “ okay,  get off me. “  Madison will mumble before stepping away from them and pushing the heavy door to her room open.

“father...” she felt it. his presence. it was too soon; she wasn’t READY. she didn’t feel confident enough. her FRIENDS were here. she needed to draw him away... their mission to escape wasn’t going to happen while she was with them.

and so, she moved, throughout the empire base, alone. she’d find another way out. her friends were all that mattered now. rounding a corner, she hesitated in her step. he was close now. so close.

The Apprentice had stand there for some time now, on the bridge of the ship, staring out the window, searching the vastness of space for whatever it is he's supposed to be looking for. He finds nothing but his own increasingly distressed reflection in the glass, until eventually his shoulders slumped in defeatism, and he's forced to concede to his master.

❝  I don't see anything ❞ 

‘ It takes more than eyes to see.‘

❝ Yes, master... ❞

He answers, apologetic and feeling foolish for having not understood sooner. Eyes slam shut, taking a couple of deep breaths before looking again...  Eyes shoot back open.
