As you probably know, dyslexics have trouble spelling. There are some words in particular that - no matter how many times I tried to memorize them - I still spell them wrong more times than not. I thought I give you a couple of examples. (note, some of these words I no longer have a problem with, but did for years)
Field - feild
Sentence - sentance
Ancient - anicient
Frustrating - frusrating
Definitely - definately
Fantasy - fanasty
Practice - practise
Soccer - soccor
Vague - Fague
Auntie Anne’s - Aunt Annie’s
Alone - only (this one confuses me the most, why do I keep mixing up these two words!?)
These are just a couple of examples. Some of these words even have more “alternate” spellings. I have studied some of these words over and over, but I can’t get them right. Some I don’t have to think much about anymore, but slip ups still occur (literally almost spelled that as accur, lol). I would say that field, definitely, and ancient are the hardest ones on that list for me right now. There are probably even more I can’t think of at the moment. This is just a little glimpse into how my mind works.
P.S. In addition to these, if I’m typing out a word with a double letter in it (like the word spell, which I do this to the most) I will sometimes double the letter before it instead (spell becomes speel). It doesn’t happen when I’m writing on paper, just when I’m using a keyboard.
I am. I have tried. It doesn’t seem to workÂ
