@babelmedicus sent: She is no stranger to the whims of nobility, nor does she lack the knowledge to feign absolute innocence. It is just as she remembers it; a festive ambiance, filled with the chitter-chatter of enthusiastic patrons. The only difference is that Kal'tsit isn't dressed up as a cleric, whose sole purpose was to face the Emperor's Blade alone.
"So, this is what your world is like. I'm afraid that such customs are foreign to me." From the music to the occasion being celebrated, the medic can only turn to Diluc for his input.
But oh, is her mind filled with distinctive memories of another time.
That she had arrived could be considered a measure of surprise to begin with. An invitation wasn’t hard to offer given his position as well as being the technical host of the gathering. Such events weren’t uncommon at Dawn Winery. Celebrations. Business deals. Other fineries and gatherings that result from prestige and nobility. His name carries weight, even if it felt little on his shoulders compared to that which he sought on the horizon. Even if he put on a mask for these events it was still something that must be dressed for.
After pleasantries and greetings are exchanged the master approaches the surprise visitor. Her greeting is casually dismissive of the atmosphere, but despite the feigned unfamiliarity she seems to fit in just as well as he did. Which was to say- it was made to work despite them both not entirely wishing to be there. There was always other work to be done. Something on the horizon. Something waiting in the shadows. Even here there may be villains in wait.
Diluc quirks his lips into a smile in spite of it all.
“Really? Consider me surprised. I would have assumed as a traveler you would have been exposed to a wealth of familiar situations. Perhaps I’ve overestimated you... hmph, but you certainly appear comfortable enough now. Or perhaps your behavior is part of an act, I can’t say I would be so different... but never mind that. I don’t wish to trouble you with those matters, I trust the food and drink has been to your liking? Seeing as you’re a fan of our wine I insist you try some of the reserve. One of our finest barrels has been opened for the occasion.”
A glass that once contained grape juice is rested on the counter besides the cat-eared woman. The master himself is not much a fan of alcohol after all. His wits are dear to him, and his mind must always be kept sharp even among welcome company like the doctor.
“Do you dance, Kal’tsit?”
