“Looks like you’ve got yourself a fancy secret admirer, Larusso,” Johnny said, chuckling as he placed a giant vase of flowers onto the table.

“You know you can call me Daniel now–”

The vase held a gorgeous bouquet, one that its purchaser had obviously spared no expense to get, a near-sublime medley of blue and black roses, blue hyacinths, blue poppies, black dahlias, black calla lilies and forget-me-nots.

It should’ve looked like a mishmash but somehow became art through the florist’s masterful hands, but Daniel’s eyes were solely drawn to the silver-lined card attached.

Rating: G/T (maybe some canon typical violence but it’s very mild)

“You missed again,” Chozen teased, his arm still fully alert; he chuckled fondly upon hearing Daniel huff in reply.

“I’ll just try again, then.” Daniel relaxed into the initial position once more, gratitude (or perhaps something else?) sparkling in his eyes.

Chozen smirked. “This isn’t a technique you can master in a day, you know.”

“I can at least learn the gist of it,” Daniel said, fidgeting in place (some things never change).

“It’s a precise art, Daniel-san, one where a centimeter makes all the difference, one that took me months to master–”

Woohoo!!!! Okay so this little set of three sentences is from A Soul for Sale or Rent, and Daniel has, upon Mr. Miyagi and Yukie’s insistence, decided to attend a Halloween party for the first time in a while:

“Ho. Ly. Shit. You’re Doug Masters from Iron Eagle, aren’t you?”

“Finally, man! You have no idea how annoying it’s been getting mistaken for Maverick all night!” Daniel said, turning toward the voice and giving a start right afterward, for much to Daniel’s surprise, the owner of that voice was Dutch, wearing an extremely flattering Crocodile Dundee costume along with a smile that didn’t have an edge of murderlust to it… and Daniel would never admit it out loud, but Dutch wasn’t looking half-bad at all.

This set of six sentences is from an extremely overdue Shance Secret Santa fic I’m working on (I’m hoping to get it done in the next couple days).

Altean courting season was almost upon them, and Keith in particular had proven interested in it upon learning about it; Coran had told stories about his own courtship with his husband 10,150 years earlier, and it had pleasantly surprised Shiro to see both Keith and Lance listening eagerly to his tales.

“It works like mistletoe, mullet,” Shiro could hear Lance saying as he hung up a sprig of flowers that looked like silver poinsettias and bright pink holly, “You get Allura to walk under it, and then you kiss her. That’s how Coran told us the Alteans used to start courting people. He talked about how he courted his husband a lot, and he really kept nodding pointedly at you, now that I think about it…”

“But is Allura going to like it?” Keith said, his hands fidgeting with his jacket and his posture imbued with the stiffness only nervousness could cause.

Lance smiled fondly at him and replied, “Allura’s going to love it.”

Therefore, Shiro must persuade Lance to sleep somewhere more comfortable, and they both find themselves needing and receiving more comfort from Shiro’s lover-ly intervention than they had thought.

Summary: A beach date gone wrong turns into a beach date done right as Keith and Lance are forced to alter their plans when faced with a cloudy day. Keith cannot quite understand Lance's obsession with sharks, but loves his boyfriend anyway. Written for the VLD Summer Exchange and as a gift for @paladinspride on Tumblr!

The aforementioned Lance was currently shivering, sitting with his knees to his chest, leaning on the surfboard he had brought, glaring at the cloudy sky and near-waveless ocean, and of course, pouting.

Granted, neither Keith nor Lance quite anticipated a foggy day in the middle of July, which Lance promptly pointed out as he whined, “It's a Sunday in the middle of July, and we were supposed to have a fantastic date at the beach because the Saturday crowds are gone, why the fuck is it cold?!”

“Because the weather hates you specifically, Lance,” Keith deadpanned.  He noted Lance’s offended gasp at the very notion of anything hating him and smirked to himself; his boyfriend really was so easy to rile up.

Summary: Vampire Slayer AU; Newly-graduated Magnostadt alumnus and Magi Aladdin nearly gets eaten by vampires and runs into two vampire-slaying troupes: the Fog Troupe, led by Kassim and Mariam, and the Fanalis Corps, led by Morgiana and Myron.  The journey he takes with them leads him to Balbadd, the improbable sanctuary country that has been taking in fleeing humans and dhampirs alike, regardless of political circumstance.  There Aladdin and the others learn learn the dark secret that creates a sanctuary country and lays cruel chains on its king: Alibaba Saluja, Aladdin’s dear friend and King candidate, who it might already be too late to save.
