i did take quite a few artistic liberties that make this not-at-all 1984 canon compliant (they are far too expressive in this and there is way too much romantic tension they would be so caught by the thought police) but consider those things leaked over from the dan and phil side

i got the idea from this from muse’s song “resistance,” here was my thought process: this is dan and phil coded in the worst way >>> it is also clearly a song about 1984 >>> is dan and phil 1984 coded? >>> oh my god. dan and julia are both people who fell in love with an older guy before ever talking to him. >>> is it too cruel to make this au when we all know how that book ends? >>> fuck it

i really want to go back and make phil’s eyes in the last page more green/yellow like on the first one but also i’mtoofuckinglazyyyy

either the note in the last panel is wayyy too big or the text on whatever propaganda phil is doing is wayyy too small but i accidentally merged the text layer with the flat colors so.

i am such a sucker for dan and phil’s slight height difference that i did make a point of phil being flustered by dan being like 2 inches taller (that is in fact why he fell in love with him in this au)
