Simply put "blorbo" is Tumblr slang for your favorite character, primarily one that lives in your head rent-free and probably shows up on your blog the most.

It started with a post (or two) poking fun at fandom bloggers, specifically Marvel fans iirc, for obsessively posting about random characters their followers aren't familiar with. A few other terms were coined that day like "glup shitto" and "scrunglo." This post explains a few of the terms you might see floating around tumblr; I must add to their definition of "glup shitto" that it's intentionally making fun of how unbelievably ridiculous some names in Star Wars are.

"Blorbofication" means a character has been turned into a silly fixation by a fan or fandom, so some of the original context of the character has been stripped away for the sake of personal enjoyment. It is likely derived from the slang terms "yassification" or "bimbofication" which you can just look up cuz I'm not getting into that lol

this should be more common and i want to call it the "Ross Adler Effect" after Mattie Ross (True Grit) and Sadie Adler (Red Dead Redemption 2): One female character (at least) who takes a second to process how her life has changed before pulling up to the gang like "you don't get to say I can't come too."

Frequently Don Johnson's "good" protagonists let the love interest make the first move. He often hesitates, leaving time for her to set the pace or change her mind. Even when the story has made it clear that he really wants her, his characters wait. He counters this with the behavior of his "bad" characters who manhandle and insult women they don't respect.

I'm trying to put into words what Silo is. So far, I have this:

I can count on one hand the number of shows that have unraveled at the same pace it takes me to solve them—I get bored of plots fast, especially when they rely on too many cheap tricks. less than that number have understood the human condition, and less than that have spoken to me on a spiritual level. Emotions are a cheap plaything; a soap opera exploits emotion, a commercial can make you cry. Silo hits deeper than that. It is not trying to get a rise out of me. It wants me to think about how I feel and to know that those feelings are dangerous, but they are also the only reason to live.

This show is about people living in an underground silo. It is also like reading from a textbook an abridged account of all human life, across all continents, faiths, governments, and ideas. It's about people trying to live their best lives in a place inherently unsuited for human survival. Like them, we do not have answers. We are simply waiting in expectation—and with a lot of hope—that we might live to see the answers revealed.

Silo is well-written, free of gimmicks, blood spray, nude scenes, and sexist jokes that fall flat. There's very little in this show I would warn about beyond saying it requires you to think and ask questions, but more importantly it requires you to care.

do some of you just never explore things ever? like you join a site, don't check the TOS, don't check your privacy options, don't check all the settings, never look at your stuff in desktop, and only pay attention when someone makes a post like "omg turn off this feature immediately!" ?
