I-I donât want to die, L! Please, L! L!â Unlike with Near, he and L had a connection. Even though Light had all intent in murdering L, he would still plead with him because Light would be trying to reach an L that found him entertaining. That touched him gently. That was able to converse with him, work with him. That called him friend. He would desperately seek that L and L would stare back at Light before slowly closing his eyes and when they opened again a harsh chill would run down Lightâs spine because heâd see it reflected back at him. That flicker of emotion - Lightâs survival - gone and Light would scream. Light would be sent to death or life in prison, some unfortunate fate, and L wouldnât have much to say, little boasting to do. He would want to be left alone for awhile and the others would give him his space, emphasizing with the exhausting weight this case was, but they wouldnât understand. Not really. L would take time to lose himself in thought, pondering which was worse: killing the only person who understood you or the only person that understood you killing themselves.
