weird trend we've noticed is that both video essays for Donkey Kong 3: Dai Gyakushū that crop up if you search that game's name both have thumbnails that feel the need to like… make their own faux level background that's not actually in the game??? and like. that kinda misses the point, doesn't it???
like the entire reason 99% of people care about DK3DG is because of the weird bullshit in the background, but like, it's only really significant because it's actually in the videogame and because hudson said "yea we don't have like, a coherent story for This, you can make your own tho!".
it feels a little disingenuous to us, then, to like. Try to make your own for the sake of a thumbnail. You lose a lot of the "What the fuck did they mean by that?", because. Well. That ain't even Hudson, let alone sole known programmer Ita, that's just kinda you trying to emulate it. as a result, you just kinda trade that mystique in favor of just like. Stock Internet Horror. let the game's weirdness speak for itself! lord knows it doesn't need to try that hard!
