Had the pleasure of hosting Taku Mizuta and Paul Bell last Friday for a concert at Surrey Uni. Superbly inspirational work. Most struck by the no headphone mixing/performing and apparent lack of laptop. Great balance between hip vernacularism (!?) and uncompromising experimentalism - a difficult achievement. Long live STEIM and Sniff's detachment from academia... must try to get him back.
