Notes about Augmented Reality
1 - Introduction - What is ?
â Augmented reality is a medium in which information is added to the physical world in registration with the world. However, as shown previously, there are many different ways that information can be added, changed, or modified in the physical world.â by Grag, Alan B. in understanding augmented reality.
2 - WHY?
Augmented Reality enhances a userâs perception of and interaction with the real world. The virtual objects display information that the user cannot directly detect with his own senses.
3 - How this tech was developed?
1957â62: Morton Heilig, a cinematographer, creates and patents a simulator called Sensorama with visuals, sound, vibration, and smell.
1990: The term âaugmented realityâ was coined at Boeing in 1990 by researcher Tom Caudell. He and a colleague, David Mizell, were asked to come up with an alternative to the expensive diagrams and marking devices then used to guide workers on the factory floor. They proposed replacing the large plywood boards, which contained individually designed wiring instructions for each plane, with a head-mounted apparatus that would display a planeâs specific schematics through high-tech eyeware and project them onto multipurpose, reusable boards. Instead of reconfiguring each plywood board manually in each step of the manufacturing process, the customized wiring instructions would essentially be worn by the worker and altered quickly and efficiently through a computer system.
1994 naval researches begin work on battlefield Augmented Reality Syste (Bars), the original model of early wearable system for Soldiers
2013: Google announces an open beta test of its Google Glass augmented reality glasses. The glasses reach the Internet through Bluetooth, which connects to the wireless service on a userâs cellphone. The glasses respond when a user speaks, touches the frame or moves the head.
4 - How it works:
They are used to capture informations and to deliver information to the user about the physical and virtual world.
1. Sensors used for tracking
2. Sensors for gathering environmental information
3. Sensors for gathering user input
An applications notice one part of the physical world, and search information about this statement in the virtual world. After apply this virtual information in the physical world, when the applications over, start by the begging.
Notes About Service
Definition, description:
A service is a process consisting of a series of more or less intangible activities that normally, but not necessarily always, take place in interactions between the costumer and service employees and/or physical resources or goods and/or systems of the service provider, which are provided as solutions to costumer problems.
services common characteristics:
services are process consisting of activities or series of activities.services are at least to some extent produced and consumed simultaneously.the costumer participates as a co-producer in the service production process at least to some extent.
by far the most important characteristic of a service is their process nature. Services are processes consisting of a series of activities where a number of different types of resources - People, physical resources, information, systems and infrastructure.Â
classifications:
Tangible actions:
people-processing services (directed at people`s bodies)
Possession-processing services (directed at physical possessions)
Intangible actions:
Mental stimulus-processing services (directed at people`s minds)
information-processing services (directed at intangible assets)
# Fundamental differences between products and services?
Products and Services has many differences, but the most popular used to distinguish one to another is the problem of intangibility.Services different of products are intangible. And how this can help or can difficult services. Services can not be recorded, stored, visas among others. while physical products are present in the space station steady hand.
Costumers don`t buy goods or services, they buy the benefits goods and services provide them with. They buy offerings consisting in goods, services, information, personal attention and other components. In other hand products a commercialized by they form, aspect and function, products has the benefit to be made before the interaction to the costumer. however services are made by the interaction with the costumer, so the X-factor are always present.
