Who the hell is DJPD?

So, basically, Legundo- a really long while ago- had this alter ego character named DJ Papa Dragons. He was. not family friendly. Think of those MLG edits from like 2014... Yeah. DJPD was basically that, but personified. In 2022, another mod in the community managed to find a REALLY old livestream vod of leg's that included DJPD. He brought it back up, legs just ran with the meme and brought the character back like four times total. And now here we are.

this was a real item in the second season of the leg.gg smp (It was called DJPD's Delightfully Devilish cookies or something)

Why is there a 26 page lore document about this guy?

Now this is where you should start to question my sanity, dear reader. This all started not to long after legundos FIRST hardcore death. yeah. ive been here for a while. For those who dont know, Legundo was killed by an optifine glitch that made piglin brutes invisible. That being said, not too long after- legs brought djpd back. Me and another mod friend of mine (not the same one who brought djpd back up, different guy) just got really into it. And just started making all kinds of backstory for this literal meme character on this big old google doc.

Ok, Now i'm curious, what is the lore anyway?

The lore goes over some pretty sad themes such as:

Manipulation

Emotional trauma

Murder / Violence

Betrayal

Loss of Sanity

Parental Guilt

Some sort of neglect

And probably more im forgetting to tag. Please feel free to skip if thats not something you wanna be reading!

So basically. DJPD was created to protect the world of minecraft (to make it easy). That means taking care of the overworld, nether, and end. For a while this was all cool and good until the nether started developing at an insane rate. They built Bastions, Fortresses, and all that cool nether stuff. The thing with some of the bastions is that they had these BIGGGG casinos. So DJPD, being a silly guy, starts hanging out around there. And develops a severe gambling addiction. I mean, is it an addiction if you have like unnatural luck and just win all the time? idkman. ANYWAY. So the casino guys are like wow thats crazy.... you should run this place. and DJPD's like "lol okay." and basically starts a mafia. dont worry about it.

So DJPD is spending all his time in the nether- but one day he's like "wait arent i supposed to be taking care of all three realms... damn i should do something about that"

So he makes Legundo (legs for short) and Spesgundo (spes for short). (forgot to mention- DJPD's name isnt DJPD by this time, Its Orsusgundo. idkman just go with it.) So Legundo is made to take care of the overworld, so he's made all strong n stuff. Spes is made to take care of the end, and is made like CRAZY smart. So DJPD trains them both until they're ready to go to their own realms. Yes, DJPD is doing all of this to just spend time being a Mafia boss in a casino in the nether. But he loves his sons.

So legs is like okay cool and does his overworld keeping duties or whatever idk he's just chillin. funily enough he's not really the main character of this story which is hillarious to me.

NOW SPES! in the end, bro is doing all sorts of experiments and research. he ends up making Pillagers (he calls them greyfolk because he is very very creative /s). and kinda shoves them into the overworld because.... the end isnt a great place to host life. No he didnt ask for legs' permission to put them there, why would he?

So Spes is kinda just making stuff and ends up getting haunted by this like void entity thing. its the void. womp womp. Obviously the little guy is like freaked out when it shows up- if you could imagine it. But he just tries hiding under his desk and ignoring it. yeah that doesnt go well. the void promises that it can help spes with his research and make him just as strong as his brother and father. so bro is like 'um... ok...' (spoilers: this does not go well). its kinda like ice kings crown from adventure time in a way. the longer spes had 'help' from the void, the more influenced by it he became. His creations, which were villagers by now- bro finally got their blood circulation down- were living in end cities that were built. But as Spes' corruption progressed, the voids hold on the dimension also expanded. Since villagers were sort of tied to Spes' soul (Magic stuff idkman go with it), when he fully fell to the voids influence- the villagers transformed into a hivemind-like species called Endermen. Theyre basically walking security cameras.

So during this, legs visits the end to confront spes about him just dumping his failed experiments into the overworld. He's only there for a short time until he gets pushed back through the end portal. Legs senses somethings wrong and writes to DJPD being like "Yo somethings wrong with spes idk what it is tho".

DJPD is like oh no and visits the overworld and is like "Legs we're going back to the end." and legs is like "okay i guess"

So they go to the end, and there- waiting for them- is Spes. but he's EVILLLL AND TWISTED..... no but for real bro is fully corrupted and dubbs himself "Nightmare". Anyway there's this huge battle its really dramatic but tldr legs ends up really injured and nightmare is defeated (kinda sorta... dont worry about the details). DJPD is like 'oh no my son' and gets legs out of the end and back into the overworld. To protect him or something, DJPD wipes his memories and puts him far away from where he once was and makes him mortal. And when the storyline of the first hardcore world took place.

As for the death, on day 313. Legs was checking out a bastion, unaware that that just so happened to be the casino bastion that DJPD headquartered in. Legs was theiving and schemin so djpd just went invisible and... ended the hardcore world. lmao.

What do you mean there was gonna be an animated film?

So basically.... Back in 2022, i wrote a script for an animated adaptation of the DJ Papa Dragons lore. I animated about a quarter of it in flip a clip, and just never finished it. Its been sitting in my files for like 3 years at this point lmao. Its basically the same plot as outlined, just with more drama and coolness. Maybe I'll revisit it, who knows. it would be fun.

This was the poster i made for it. obviously it did not come out in 2022.

Final Comments
