I've been having some discussions about "Kid DJs" so I figured I'd chime in on here. I don't break DJs up into kids, guys, girls, old people, etc. You're either dope or you're not. This is @djkswizz and he's dope, unconditionally. The dude is a 14 year old world champ. He's battling DJs that are older and have been doing it for long and he's not winning because of novelty, he's winning because of skill. # Much like adult celebrity DJs, there are also kid celebrity DJs. Like their adult counterparts who get booked because they were in Playboy or starred on a TV show, these kids don't have the skill to compete with dope DJs, they lean on the novelty. I don't want to hear "good for your age" and neither do you. I don't need to see any more videos of you struggling through routines, hitting cue points instead of being able to do doubles, playing "tribute sets" to artists who really didn't change your life and faking all the other funk of the culture to get more clicks and views. Be a student, stay a student and do what we all need to do, practice. # #Repost @djkswizz - @goldieawards Tonight 7pm @ @brooklynsteel NYC ... I flew 28hrs from New Zealand to be here...
