An example here would be the Catholic religion... a religion who fails to abide by the first and second commandment. Their statues of Mary and prayer to Mary -- big no-no...but you couldn’t tell a Catholic it’s an abomination, just like you couldn’t tell the people at the bottom of the mount with the fake idol of a golden calf.

Making a graven image of Mother Mary is a sin. To show Mother Mary your praise and worship and prayer is a sin because you are putting Mary before God, and in essence, worshipping and praying to Mary instead of God. But God the Father is the only one we’re supposed to pray to, in the name of His Son Jesus Christ. We pray through Christ’s name because He is our mediator. To acknowledge this is to be saved. By HIS grace. Not Mary. To acknowledge Mary first before God and His one true Son Jesus Christ places Mary before God and becomes that which we are told NOT to do.

Mary is not God, nor is Mary Jesus -- the Son of God. And though Mary was a very important person in Jesus’ life: ya know, His literal birth mother, still, she is not God or a god at all. She was a human woman who lived in biblical times and gave birth to and raised Jesus Christ by miraculous intervention. In no way, fashion, or form does that mean anyone should make statues of her and stop and kneel and pray and kiss your rosary in front of the statue.

Like Jesus said. “Forgive them Father, they know not what they do.” Even Jesus knew people were basically ignorant and that’s why He came to save us. To save us not only from the evils in existence, but also to save us from our own ignorant minds.

Commandment #1 of the Ten Commandments

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.”

Commandment #2 of the Ten Commandments

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.”

Because Mary is not God and we’re not supposed to make statues of anyone for personal faith reasons (for displaying inside or outside of a place of worship) like a public church -- carving statues of Mary to do those very things is an abomination to God.

Making statues of Mother Mary is in direct contradiction to the first two commandments, yet the Catholic religion is one of the largest Christian religions in the world. How did they get it so wrong? And how many people are being led astray because of it?

Religion creates divisions which create confusion and hate. Christ unites the entire world in true eternal love. The only one. The only way. The truth.
