okay, so our first proper show case of divinty is her racing after civilian x, pushing him into a cafe, and reading his tarot cards. i want to explain the cards, the scenes that play out afterwards, and my thoughts on it adding to the story.
the first card that divinty pulls for x ( another key detail is her being the one to pull the cards, when usually it's whoever gets the reading that chooses them, this goes hand in hand with my thoughts that this is her ability allowing her to see into these people / events. she has to pick them for it to activate. ) is the fool, upright.
> The Fool (numbered 0) represents new beginnings, boundless potential, and the ultimate leap of faith. This Major Arcana card embodies an optimistic, carefree energy, encouraging you to embrace the unknown, trust your intuition
we can see this as the fact her card reading ( and giving the coin to cyan ) is what gave the civilian x a new beginning as hero x. this scene *is* essentially the start of the story.
we can also take this card to be more literal, calling someone a *fool* — said someone being wreck who walks on screen, terrorising people. it also is the fool *over* a chariot, which usually can mean a certain chaos or speraticness finally finding a focus, be it a goal or a direction in life etc. Interesting that in the scene after the fool its wreck who might be that chaotic force, then its "tied down" or used by the chariot , X, to further their goal ( which could explain why wreck is a part of X’s relationship chart ).
Next card seen is the chariot, which cuts to civilian x struggling infront of the mirror as his powers activate for the first time — set right after giving the coin to cyan ( confirmed by the creator ).
> The Chariot (Major Arcana VII) represents victory, willpower, and overcoming obstacles through sheer determination and control.
This shows that x is able to overcome the new beginning and the struggles of controlling the hero x.
the wheel of fortune is after the fool and chariot, *letting fate deal your cards instead of willpowering your way through life in a speratic way.* So in my interpretation in the scene after is him letting go of that freedom as he makes connections, the handshake with that seemingly important looking people at a grand event. another note is that divinty is also watching this scene unfold — which could be literal, or be her ability showing her what will unfold.
You then have the heirophant
> The Hierophant (Card 5) represents tradition, spiritual wisdom, established structures, and conformity. It signifies learning from established systems or seeking guidance from a trusted mentor, teacher, or orthodox institution.
( while we can’t see the name of this card, i believe this is it based on the art )
The established structure can relate to the world and the corrupt system x is seemingly trying to free everyone from — the heirophant’s under a card thats facing away, we dont know what that card is, so it might be a represtation of a force or a person going against the "hierophant" which is usually order, tradition, social structure.
relating this to nine is his helping with x taking down the system, but also “seeking guidance from a trusted mentor”. Since x is a new hero, divinty foresaw who he was going to turn to for guidance.
The devil comes next, placed directly ontop of nine, with the shot lingering longer than the rest. If we take this literal, it could also be a sign not to trust nine.
> The Devil tarot card (Card #15) symbolizes temptation, shadow work, and feeling trapped by unhealthy habits, addictions, or toxic attachments
The camera flashes to civilian x falling, with a woman’s eyes watching him while the voice singing switches to a woman. Who may be the evil woman he is seen fighting later, as the only close up of her is her eyes. Could she be temptation? Why he’s feeling trapped?
Unhealthy habits can also relate to the fact there is an x over his wrist with liquid ( self harm ) but that could just go along with his snap ability
