Happy Teacher Dare Day! My question to you: If you won the lottery, would you still teach? If so, how would it change your practice? If not, what would you do with your time instead?
Well. To be perfectly honest.. I'm so young and raised as part of the do-what-you-want-not-what-you-need spoiled generation that I don't know that winning the lottery would make a difference in my career choice, at least not right now.
By that I mean, I'm teaching by choice and because I love it. My life right now is so low-maintenance, low-cost, that money is not a stress or a motivating factor. [And I am extraordinarily grateful for that.] I'd probably be less frugal with my summer vacations though? And I would definitely pay off student loans for me and my brothers nevermind that they were smart and got engineering degrees, take my dad out to dinner more...
But that's not part of your question! I would definitely still teach and I don't think it would change my practice either -- I already horde school supplies -- because I'm still trying to find my practice. How it would integrate itself? I really don't know..
