@aroace-get-out-of-my-face
I sent an ask rambling to you about a made up hunger games district but idk if it went through so!!
district 17, the clothing (and cows milk) district, consisting of a giant lush landscape with cow and sheep pens within. this district has 2 jobs, farmers and tailors, a childs job is basically chosen for them based off their physical strength, weaker children are pressured into being tailors and stronger ones are pressured into becoming farmers.
The people of this district cannot live with their parents past 18, and are expected to have a job by thenāotherwise facing homelessnessāthey can choose to be apprenticed before this time, but cannot choose their job if they do so.
if a tailorsāor a child expected to become a tailorsāname is pulled to participate in the hunger games, a 18 year old farmer is expected to volunteer in their place, this can apply to young children but is forced upon the farmers much less.
This district is āneutralā on the capitol, truly just hiding the hatred that is deeply rooted within them.
theres 2 main characters in the storyline that this district follows, Roy, a 16 year old tailors apprentice who comes from a farmerās family, desperate to prove himself after failing the strength test, he volunteers as a last resort. Roy never intended to volunteer at 16, 18 was his goal, but a 13 year old farmers apprentice he knew was called up, and suddenly he was shouting āI volunteerā before he even knew it. His weapon in the arena would be throwing knives, stalking in the shadows until the person he desired to kill was alone, retrieving the knife and running before anyone could spot him or the dead body. The capitol is heavily mixed on him, some were incredibly excited to finally get a tailors apprentice in the arena, and for him to hate his job was a huge disappointment to them, and others, who adore him for his dedication. Roy, admittedly, hates getting sponsors, as useful as some materials can be, they can reveal where heās hiding, and have nearly gotten him caught more then once.
Selina, whose nickname is Citrus, was picked after Roy, being barely 14, and yet still ambiguous enough in her strength, nobody volunteered for her. Citrus hated the idea of being a farmer or tailor, spending her time studying the plants in the area, discovering which ones were poisonous and which ones were safe. Once she was within the capitol, other tributes started noticing her ability to identify plants, and with how nice she seemed, decided that they could use her to stay safe from any dangerous flora. Citrus used this trust placed in her to betray others, tricking them into believing that poisonous plants were safe, and doing the opposite to safe plants, effectively starving them of food they couldnāt catch until she decided that it was their time to go. The capitol adores Citrus, she is adorable, her genuine belief that she could win generates sympathy and support all throughout the Capitol. Sponsorsāto herāare great, a useful tool provided by others who believe in her.
I know either Roy or Citrus has to win but im so attached to them both,,,
