Maybe in another life: Your muse forgets who they are and reverts to a domestic life. My muse tries to talk to them about their old life, but they just won’t listen.
Under cut cause length!
"Small one..!"
Jeanne couldn't believe her eyes when she spotted a familiar face in the crowd, without skipping a beat she started to wade through the people, towards the small group of dancers.
"Where did you go, you just disappeared one mor--"
"I'm sorry but do I.. know you?" Mei's expression twisted in confusion which made the pirate captain frown.
"Now is not the time for jokes, we met in Celestic, we were all brought there."
Nothing she said seemed to rid Mei of the confusion, even when she clamped her hands on the girls shoulders and shook her. Eventually Jeanne stepped back, the people around them had gone quiet over the exchange and the smaller girl still had no recollection of the woman or the stories she was telling.
"Perhaps.. It is better if you are left here." The captain turned to leave.
"I'm sorry I'm not the girl you lost, but I'm sure she's happy to know people care..!" Mei's voice was drowned out by the music starting again.
They'd bumped into one another and after finding somewhere better to sit they started talking. It'd started off as small things, how they'd adjusted to their new time and the people they'd started to meet.
When it came to talking about home, Mei lowered her head, a hand rubbing her arm.
"..Small one?"
"I'm scared, I'm scared I won't be able to go back home," her voice shook and she bit her lip. Pouring her heart out to someone she barely even knew was something Mei didn't do, but she really needed it this time.
Jeanne gingerly reached out to pat the smaller girl's back, "It is too early to know, yes?"
After surprisingly comforting words from the pirate, it didn't take long for Mei to start calming down, hands rubbing at her eyes.
"I-I'm sorry I didn't mean.." she stopped herself, "I.. Thank you, Jeanne,"
"It was nothing, but perhaps next time there will be no tears."
22: … to yours trying to play footsie with mine during a meeting
Mei didn't know why she'd been pulled to this meeting and she had started to really not care. Part way through she'd slumped down against the table, lips pursing a little as she listened to the head speaker drone on and on.
She'd barely noticed the smiles the woman sitting across from her had been giving her throughout, well, at least not until she felt something brush against her ankle.
The dancer flushed when she finally caught her gaze, hand moving to cover her cheeks as she tried to ignore the pirate's exploring. Though it was a little hard when she was moving up so high--
As the meeting went on, Mei grew progressively redder, hiding her face against her arms.
She'd have to get payback later, maybe when they weren't surrounded by so many people.
