After spending four years studying as an undergraduate and then potentially another year or two studying a Masters Degree, many students deem that enough is enough. Whilst others continue of as researchers in completing the PhD Doctorate.

Any PhD student will tell you a Doctorate requires a certain level of commitment that differs from Undergraduate or Masters Study due to a higher level of Independent and Self Directed research involved.

Those who are able to commit maybe able to do so due to gaining a Scholarship that helps afford Tuition fees and living expenses known as a Stipend. This eases the pressure off having to work to survive like the majority of others, nevertheless its still very beneficial to complete a Doctorate due to the increase career advantage that PhD Holders have over those who may have settled for an Undergraduate or Masters Degree.

Having a PhD provides a certain Enrichment to ones CV and Personal Profile which shows that the individual has demonstrated their high level of ability and commitment in their field of expertise to a very high and respected standard of education.

Essentially a PhD is similar to a placement directly working as a research fellow for an organization conducting research and makes the candidate suitable for a wider range of options for employment from the moment they complete their programme.
