So. It was over.

All the years of hovering between this world and her own, living a chaotic life struggling with the inhabitants here or existing in... Whatever counted as an afterlife back home (If there was one-she couldn’t remember), it all would finally come to an end.

There was a small part of Celica that wistfully wondered if she would finally be allowed to rest with her sister and the rest of their friends who’d passed.

But another part of Celica was filled with regret-she’d made plenty of friends during her time in Hive City, people who’d helped to fill the hole in her heart that came from being eternally trapped, unable to return to the land she had given her life to help save. She wanted to go to them all, tell them all how much they meant to her, thank them for their friendship and wish them luck going back to where they belonged.

But there was one whom she needed to talk to first and foremost. Just in case she didn’t reach her in time...

She had literally just arrived here in the city, and she already found trouble to fall into. With the lack of entertainment and money she had, she decided to make her own gamble in a bar. But when things went south (as her luck had it), she simply sprinted out and made a turn to an alleyway, watching as the group of men began to look for her. If she had to put up a fight, then she was going to with whatever chakra she had left inside of her. 

As she peeked from behind the wall, she felt a sudden presence beside her to jolt back. A girl... It was only a girl. But who was she? 

“How interesting...” The words were to no one but herself as she sat in a cafe she’d found, staring across a few tables at a girl with cat ears. They weren’t fakes, that she could tell by the movements attributed to them. Not robotic either. They were too... lifelike. After staring for a few more moments, she stood, collecting her paper and pen she’d acquired.

Sliding into the seat across from the girl, she didn’t care to ask for it nor if she startled her, hand already writing down her observations as she prepped to learn more.

“Hello, I am here to ask for some details about your ears---if you don’t mind. I think it would benefit in my research.”

The Nightmare Knight sat on the stoop of the house he towered over, sulking as he scolded himself for not sending a message earlier. Now he felt embarrassed to knock on the door even, unsure if Blake was even at home or not. As if sensing his discomfort, her cats, either the strays that had taken a shine to her or others from the neighborhood, had gathered around the three story tall giant, eventually leading to some clambering their way up his back and resting on his shoulders and horns.

Accepting his fate as a makeshift cat tower, the Nightmare Knight opened the basket he brought and began opening can after can of cat food he had brought. They were going to be used sooner or later, he supposed, why not now?

“I feel like an idiot.”
