Cara had barely gotten any sleep last night. After Eugene left due to their heated fight, she could even sit still for more than a minute. But the fact that he didn't come back at all was beyond her mind. She was worried, scared and all the negative emotions she could possibly feel. But despite her lack of sleep the night before, it wasn't hard for her to wake up at seven am in panic when she reached over for the familiar warm body that was supposed next to her in the bed.

Right now, it was almost eight am and he was still not home and Cara was so close to calling the police. Yes, there had been times when he stormed out of their shared apartment but he was always home in less than two hours. Her heart was racing and her mind was blannk, she didn't even know what to do. Settling herself on the couch, she waited for the arrival of Eugene as she debated on whether to call or text him. Did he need his space or should she just call him?

          It was warm. Unbearably warm. Ollie didn't do so well in heat and the summer sky had already darkened his pale skin to a golden tan. The last thing he needed, in this warmth, was for his car to break down when he'd left his phone back at the motel. It was a long walk, and well -- this car was his home half the time, so it wasn't like he could just leave it here, anyway.
